This is the thread that should include discussion about the content, beginning, ending, deaths (possible), and new characters in the book.

Spoilers may not be posted in another thread unless that thread has "(WARNING: SPOILERS)" in the title.

I've heard that he last word of the last book will be scar, if that's a help

Well, even without a Horcruxe, Dumbledore still has a painting up in the Headmaster's Office.. should Harry be at Hogwarts, at all.

Yes, I also heard that the last word will be scar, but I have no idea how it will relate to the plot. maybe the scar plays a bigger part in the next book, or even helps explain how Harry is to kill Voldemort...

RAB = Regulus Alphard(?) Black (after the uncle that helped Sirius???) Dumbledore's picture is already in his office, which means he is indeed dead. I really liked the Lupin/Tonks relationship and think Neville and Luna are headed down the same path. Fleur went up a few notches in my books thanks to her comment about still loving Bill (and that HILARIOUS line about being beautiful enough for the both of them). I think Snape is really a good guy and that he and Dumbledore had already discussed the fact that Snape would likely have to kill him to keep under cover and save a student. JKR has already said that Book 7 takes place at school so I'm hoping they go back to Hogwarts, though I'd love to see more of Fred and George. The last word in the last book is 'scar' and I can't help but wonder if Harry has part of Voldemort's soul in him and have to kill himself in order to rid us of him, but that would be too cheesey for words. The prophecy said one couldn't live while the other did, so I'm hoping Harry comes out on top, as it seems the common theme in all the books is love conquers all and good triumphs over evil.

Makes sense. harry will come out on top, I mean it's kids book, that's killing Mickey Mouse. :)

I do like that the next book will play at Hogwarts. But sad at the same time, as I would have loved Harry travelling to new locations. I for instance liked Hogsmeade being introduced. A few good stories lines already occured there.

I do wish she did more with the forest behind hagrids house in this book. Also a place where a few good story lines have taken place.

In response to Marylou, the reason for Aurors is to fight Voldemort, if Harry kills him, he won't need to continue school to become an Auror.

I hope the book isn't open ended, I wanna know what happens to Harry!!!

I'm also not so sure that Sirius won't make a comeback, we have seen no true proof that he is actually dead thus far.

I don't see why there would not be any more Aurors if Voldemort is killed. They are the mizard soliders and soldiers are always needed-for there will always be stife and the tempation to oppress. When one large evil is done away with there are always at least 3 small evil vieing for that newly vacant spot.
I think Dumbledore mention somthing about this in the last book...

I have a feeling that Voldemort will be killed. Snape ends up being RAB, or his brother who is helped by Snape. Malfoy will make a quick get away. Which will leave the open ended story.

It looks like we will see at least one new place, as harry intends to visit his parents grave and the hollow.

I would like to second the assumption that it'll all work out. I think JKR knows that in the end for kids good has to win over evil. There will be no LOTR bittersweet ending here...IMHO of course :)

Half blood Princess, an Auror's job is to fight all bad wizards and witches. Voldemort is not the only "bad" wizard of all time. I think the ministry of magic will still need Auror's for the Malfoys and Lestranges of this world. I can't see Bella not causing trouble with help or without.

I was re-reading the other HP books and in Chamber of Secrets, Dumbledore mentions To Harry that Voldemort put a bit of himself into Harry but unintentionally. Hopefully this means that Harry isn't one of the Horcruxes. And JKR writes the books aimed at the age Harry is. At 16/17 you have learned that good doesn't always win. That being said I'm hoping that the "prediction" that Harry will live to a ripe old age and be minister of magic and have lots of children will be the one that actually happens. Plus as JKR cried when she killed Sirius what state would she be in if she killed Harry?
