Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.

Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

sorry crunchpatty, not infinity, though the answer is usually a metaphor for infinity.

And it comes in *many* colors! But brown isn't one of them. In fact, I'll give you a clue: the colors it comes in happen to be, scientifically, the colors of light, or aka the rainbow.

That probably didn't make much sense.

Anyway.... I'm starting to think this riddle is WAY to vague... ah well, maybe someone'll guess it

I guess normally you wouldn't think that this answer comes in all the colors of the rainbow, but scientifically it does. There are some in between colors as well...

Anthony, I change my answer. I didn't understand the "smallest" and other smallest. Pluto & Mercury. So the answer is the sun for sure.
