Once again, turmoil is brewing in the underground crime world of New York. The city is slowly being taken over by La Cosa Nostra, the New York underground mafia. They are recruiting members at record numbers and they can be seen in every night club and bar scaring away customers. And now Joseph Hollis, the High Philosopher of the Order of Socrates, and mayor of New York, has learned of a secret plan by his rival faction, La Cosa Nostra, to go on a crime spree and make off with money, valuables, and ultimate control of various establishments in New York.

Mr. Hollis, being not only concerned with the livelihoods of the patrons of his city, but also with his rival faction gaining too much power, has decided to put together a team of trusted Order of Socrates resistance operatives to foil the plans of La Cosa Nostra. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of attrition lately, and certain people have been going to the highest bidder to offer their services as a spy working from within the Order of Socrates. Joseph is aware of this and he's put together the best possible team he can think of, but unwittingly will be inviting some spies for La Cosa Nostra to his team of operatives.

As long as the loyal Order of Socrates operatives can figure out whom amongst them is untrustworthy, their mission should be a success. But if they trust the wrong people, La Cosa Nostra will succeed and cause severe damage to the New York economy, while gaining enough power to take over the city.

Will the mayor and his team be able to restore order to New York? Or will the underground mafia, take over the city's resources? That's for you to decide in this version of The Resistance: Order of Socrates Restores Order

Hmmm... to put Ms Helen in the spotlight or not to...

I say no. I don't think my use of the card would force her to change her play (assuming she has an option to begin with), because she knows the spies are in an early hole and may play Sabotage (assuming she's a spy) even if she's in the spotlight.

I'll hold it for now.

Serges I believe that was the best move. This is getting better :)

that seems like a smart move. Or maybe you know she's not, because you are. :)

no because Ms Helen is also in the bag. She'll be revealed if she votes "no". So Serges won't waste his card on her :)

Biggie, sit back and relax. The Resistance is going to win.

...unless you're actually a spy. In which case, keep futilely trying to implicate me. It's kind of adorable.

The team of OOS operatives took a different approach this time and hid outside the building of Sami's. Each team member was stationed outside a different side of the building, as there were four entrances. They waited all night until the sun came up, but there was no action. When Sami showed up and saw Eden at the front door, he started asking questions. At that point Eden called to the rest of the team and they all met out front. They were confused as to what happened because Mayor Hollis was pretty certain that this was the time the hit was planned. The team decided to have some breakfast and coffee before reporting back to the Mayor.

As they were sitting around their breakfast table, Sami ran out from the back room. "It's gone! It's all gone! My life savings!"

The four members sat there and looked at one another. What had happened?
Mission 2 consisting of a team of Serges, Eden Zweig, Ms Helen, and Illicit was a FAILURE.

The team members voted as follows:
???? SABOTAGE
???? SUCCESS
???? SUCCESS
???? SUCCESS

Jason Arends is up next to propose the team for Mission 3 and to hand out the special abilities.

Reminder of player order:
Serges
Eden Zweig
Jason Arends
Cekuray
biggie528
Molly Maltese
Illicit
M. Lacrimosa
Ms Helen
Riza Hawkeye

I will write up the mission details and give Jason his abilities in a few minutes.

"...unless you're actually a spy. In which case, keep futilely trying to implicate me. It's kind of adorable. "

While I AM indeed adorable, I am NOT a spy.

I'm just trying to keep my options open. In this case, either Serges, Eden and Illicit are all spies, or Ms Helen is.

It only makes sense that Ms Helen and Jason are both spies, and Serges Eden and Illicit are all Resistance.

The Resistance:

You can rest assured that Ms Helen is a spy, just like Jason Arends. If you vote for Jason's mission, be sure that it won't succeed.

MISSION 3: The Mother of Innocence Cathedral

Mayor Hollis was sitting in his office steaming over the failure of his last resistance team when a note came across his desk. It was from his intelligence source within the ranks of La Cosa Nostra and it detailed the logistics of the next planned hit. It appeared this time the mafia was going to go after the Church. "Have they no limits to their treachery?" Joseph thought to himself.

Apparently La Cosa Nostra was planning to steal all the alms and church funds from the rectory, which was a pretty hefty sum as they had just held a fund-raising drive. This would seriously impede the church's ability to help the indigent people of New York. La Cosa Nostra would use this as leverage with Manfred Gesling, the Priest, and offer to give all of the money back in exchange for him becoming a recruiter of members to La Cosa Nostra from the pool of needy people that came to the church for help.

Mayor Hollis knew he had to stop this to help both the poor, and to prevent the mob from expanding even more. He gives the details of the planned attack to his chosen team of operatives.

Jason Arends is the leader for Mission 3.

Mission 3 will consist of FOUR team members.

Mayor Hollis gave the team leader three special advantages to distribute to whom he sees fit. They are:
- OPINION MAKER - Receiver of this card must vote first publicly whether to approve a mission for the rest of the game.
- NO CONFIDENCE - Receiver of this card can veto a successful vote on a mission proposal causing it to fail and forcing leadership to change.
- STRONG LEADER - Receiver of this card can use this to automatically become the leader for the next mission.

Jason should now distribute these abilities to other team members or keep one for himself.

Jason please feel free to assign these abilities whenever you are ready.

Lol so just because it was sabotaged, I'm the spy?

*I'm just trying to keep my options open. In this case, either Serges, Eden and Illicit are all spies*

Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm still getting the hang of it but Serges knows Illicit's alegiance but Illicit doesn't know Serges allegiance. If I have understood this right then it is possible for Illicit to be resistance whilst Serges and Eden are playing one hell of a game.

Let's not forget this very scenario happened last time with Jason and Illicit and they both turned out to be spies. It would be very easy for them to say 'Oh we know each others allegiance, therefore Ms Helen is the guilty one'.

The only thing we can definitely take from this is that Illicit is Resistance.

Oh and last thing, lets not forget Serges is an expert at this game, he knows what the hell he is doing having played it lord knows how many times.

And not to forget the most important thing, I voted success so one of them had to have voted sabotage lol.
