The game's very simple. You just have to post a riddle, and the person who posts next should try answering it, and should post their own riddle.

Example:
Why do birds fly South in winter?

Ah, it's the car and goats problem! I've had many a pub argument over this one!

To have the greatest chance of finding the throne room, he should change his choice.

For the first choice, there's an chance of 1 in 3 of picking the right door. But once the guard tells him where a tiger is, things change. It's more likely that the detective has picked a tiger than that he's picked a throne room: he had 2 in 3 chances of choosing a tiger door. If he's picked a tiger, then the guard has just told him where the other tiger is, so changing his choice will get him the throne room. It's only if he's picked the throne room that he's wrong to change. So 2 out of 3 times he should change, and only 1 out of 3 times he shouldn't.

Yes that is correct Cordelia! Although I'm sure others will argue it with you :)

Three young detectives decide that just once they want to have their fortune read to them, not for a case but just for fun.

They go to see Thomas Lee, the fortune teller, and he offers them to buy the basic $20 reading, a reading that included a little more personal information in a $40 reading or a full in-depth fortune telling for $50.

The first detective steps up and hands him a $50 bill.
Thomas asks "would you like the $20, the $40 or the $50 reading?"
"The $50 reading" the detective replies, which Thomas delivers.

After that first reading, the second detective steps up and also hands Thomas the $50.
Thomas asks "would you like the $20, the $40 or the $50 reading?"
"The $50 reading" the detective replies, which Thomas delivers.

Now the third detective steps up to Thomas and hands him $50.
Thomas immediately commences with the $50 reading.

Why didn't the fortune teller ask the third detective which reading to give?

Ahh, the old Monty Hall paradox! I remember having arguments about that one as well. It's all a matter of perspective, there is even a wiki page about it.

As far as the fortune teller question:

The first two paid with $50 bills so the fortune teller needed to know if change needed to be made, whereas the last detective paid with smaller bills so no change would have been needed to be made (i.e. 2 $20 bills and a $10 bill), that is how the fortune teller knew.

I'll try to come up with one to put on hear today!

Here's my riddle for you all. Let's see how you do (hope it's not too easy...)

A man goes to the local swimming pool and swims a breadth of the pool. The pool is 10 meters long, 4 meters wide, 1 meter deep at the shallow end and slopes after 6 meters down to 2.5 meters at the deep end. How much water is needed to fill the pool?

Lyra, I am truly perplexed. Could you tell us the answer (if no-one objects)?

Well Sir William, no water is needed to fill the pool if the man is already swimming in it, it is already full!!!

OK, Here is one:

Shady walks into the Tricky Mister and asks Cyrus to get him a glass of water. Cyrus looks at Shady, reaches under the bar and pulls out a revolver and points it at Shady. Shady sys to him "Thank you," and leaves. Why?

Lyra, I think you have a good one there!
