The game's very simple. You just have to post a riddle, and the person who posts next should try answering it, and should post their own riddle.

Example:
Why do birds fly South in winter?

Ah yes thank you ctown, the riddle should read

"He proposes a contest to the knight where they will meet at sunset, each bringing a glass of water. They will exchange glasses and each will drink from the other's glass. The one who lives will receive the island. The dragon believes that he has a foolproof plan and the island will soon be his, but the knight knows of one surefire way that he will live and the dragon will die. What is it?"

I can make the first half of this work: if the knight drinks from well 1, any of the other wells is going to be a cure. but that depends on if you drink from a higher well whether or not you get poisoned over again.

The second half, I don't know. How does the dragon die? Does it have to be water from the wells?

sorry should say the knight would have to have a pre-competition drink from well 1 first before drinking the dragon's offering.

It does seem to depend on whether you have to keep drinking from higher and higher wells to counteract each poison. If so, if the knight gives the dragon water from well #6 then he forces the dragon to drink from well #7, and there's nothing then that can counter well#7. But that would apply to any of the poisons: you'd have to keep drinking from the next well up till you ran out (in the knight's case at #6 and in the dragon's case at #7) and then you'd die. So the only way the knight could live would be to not drink the water. :)

I'm not sure Lyra meant us to get this many headaches. I blame the English language for not distinguishing between puzzle riddles and the type of joke that goes "What do you get if you cross an elephant and a kangaroo?"...

If I had to guess the answer to that, I'd have to say an Eleroo. But that's just what I would say.

Here is a puzzle.

In an alley, you find a dead body. It's that of a man. Coming from his mouth is a red liquid. And next to his head, is a stick. What happened to this man?

The problem with that sort of riddle, for the purposes of this thread, is that you're supposed to ask yes/no questions to solve it, which could take some time...

I'll discount the obvious 'he got hit with the stick, blood came out of his mouth and he died' answer and ask 'Is the red liquid blood?" and 'How long is ths stick?' (OK, so it's not a yes/no question, but I'm trying to speed things up a little!)

(Oh, and it's not an Eleroo. Anyone else know that one?)

Don't know the answer to your riddle...
The answer to mine's a nitwit!

Who can jump higher than a house?

*Ah Cordelia... maybe you should see a doctor... I didn't mean to give anyone headaches...*

What do you get if you cross an elephant and a kangaroo?

Great big holes all over Australia.

(Thanks Lyra, I've de-stressed with a gin & tonic and the headache's fine now!)

This is the solution to Heim's question/riddle : The knight fills his "glass" or cup with plain water (they're on an island anyway, lots of water around xD). Anyways, the knight takes a sip from well one and waits for the dragon to come back with a glass/cup filled with water from the well of number 7. They exchange glasses. The knight gets cured (cuz he drank from well 1, number 7 is the highest well there is, so the knight gets cured). The dragon drinks the "plain" water (which he believed it was a poison filled glass), rushes to well 7 and drinks from the well, thus poisoning himself and killing himself.

xD. Good one Heim. You really had me thinking there
