Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.
Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

Does it have anything to do with moving the sail's boom back and forth to push against the dead air and move the boat to shore?

I hope it's not one of those "gotchas" where he just turns on the motor and goes to shore...

I've got it. Does he use his hands for a paddle? If not are there any items on board?

Besides why would a sailor be in a lake? Should he be at the sea or the ocean?

Hold on, let me throw a curve ball. Who is a sailor that cannot swin? I bet that every sailor has to know how to swim. So I'm guessing this is a trick question.

Does the sailor have a magic lamp on board?
Oh no wait, a sea monster or something gives him a lift or pushes his boat.
Is his name Jonah? Cuz may be he rode to shore in a lost whale's mouth....
I have no clue

"this one is kind of stupid but if you can guess it:
what is the one word that bush, texans, and many other people can't pronounce?"
Nuclear! Or should I say nukular.
So, he finds a piece of enriched uranium in his boat. He builds his own power plant and explodes his boat and kills himself.

Here is a riddle!
I saw Caesar with all his might.
I saw the Vikings with all their spite.
I saw Jesus and his happy face.
And yet Hitlar is in this place.
Where am I?
(clue: It is a REAL place and it is only ONE place.)

I would say Gaul/France.
Caesar conquered it, the Vikings raided it and took Normandy, it is filled with Christians, and Hitler invaded it.
If not, Germany. The reasons are almost the same.
Here's an easy one:
A bottomless barrel,
it's shaped like a hive.
It's filled with flesh,
and the flesh is alive!
