Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.

Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

*pulling up a chair and holding it for the young detective to sit upon*

Daniella, please relax and and stop yelling.
The riddle answer won't be posted until others have had a chance to answer as well.

*hands the young lady a glass of water calmly*

im not sure if anybody got this, but Lady Grey, the first one is a person going through life

baby walks on four "legs"
when matured, walks on two
and when elderly, the cane he/she uses counts as third, assuming he/she has back problems

1)Correct James. You solved the riddle of the sphinx.
2) Correct cfm. The man on the stool is eating a fish and his pet cat gets the bones.

Shadow asked his secretary to make him a coffee. While the secretary was making the coffee, her ordinary clip-on earring fell in to the cup. Even though the cup had coffee in it, the earring didn't get wet. How is this possible?

It was instant coffee and while the cup had coffee in it the secretary hadn't added the boiling water yet.

Or, the earring caught on the side of the cup, and did not therefore fall into the coffee.

It was surrounded by a magical forcefield that prevented any water from touching it!
