Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.
Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

1) The ball had been heated before it was placed on the funnel and allowed to cool down under the cloth during the show. As it cooled it shrank and fell inside the funnel.
2) The problem isn't the wait he is carrying, it is the area it is spread over. if he walks accross the pressure exerted through his feet will crack the bridge. If he crawls accros the weight will be distributed over a wider area and therefore will exert less pressure on the bridge so it won't break.
3) The man had visible symptoms of an infectious disease.

1: No. But the ball did change in temperature during the act.
2:No.
3:No, but it was how the man looked that caused his death.
James: I already said: this puzzle uses pounds as in weight.
Sam:A pound of (for example)cement and a pound of feathers are the same weight. But a pound of gold has a different weight.Hint:This is one gift horse that you should look in its mouth.

the bar and the glass of water- I remember some riddle about a man needing a glass of water for his hiccups but when I googled it I got some man asks for two shots so the bartender shoots him. Sounds like a combination of the two riddles!
Am i even close??
