Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.

Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

Okay, so my best guess is that you have to be awake to experience shock? Or something? And good thought about the carpet, Majandra!

Thanks, Dr. M!
S.A. ... As Opus the Penguin might say, "thfppt."

Before I forget, here's a replay of the one I may have worded improperly:

I have billions of eyes, yet I live in darkness. I have millions of ears, yet only four lobes. I have no muscles, yet I move two hemispheres. What am I?

Oh, bye the way sorry I wasn't able to go here at sleuth for some time. The answer to the farmer riddle was right, jstkdn. The elevator answer was that he was a midget and couldn't reach buttons higher than eight.

I don't know if he walked over carpet majandra, but it is in any case not relevant.

There is something that is nothing, but it has a name. It joins our walks; it joins our talks; it plays in every game. What is it?

Three riders riding by, three pears hanging high. Each man takes a pear,
but still leave three hanging there. How?

A man jumped 150 feet entirely under his own power. He landed safely. How could this be?

try these on for size

well, jstkdn, the thing about chickens is that they dont instantly die when their heads are cut off, they run around in circles for about ten seconds then drop dead,

Fonzie's right. Ngah.

A shadow.

Either the riders are women or there are three pears hanging low.

The man had a parachute on.
