Everyone has suggestions for new things they would like to see in Sleuth. Well, this is a thread for those ideas. Just post a one or two line synopsis of your concept(s), with a small additional informational blurb if two lines is not enough to capture it. Discussions regarding specific ideas will take place in a separate thread, to keep this one running smoothly. Please do not include complaints, critiques, or other discussion on this thread, for purposes of flow. Anything that is not specifically done for the purpose of outlining an idea will be deleted.

All ideas will be considered; even if no discussion thread for them is immediately started, don't lose heart. Ready, get set, post!

The Heigh Leigh Irregulars would like to apologize for our prolonged absence. Unfortunately, the 'top secret' mission on which we were sent came to naught. After scouring the world over, we have come to the terrible conclusion that, although it is possible to find a leopard-print fez, none are available with a neon pink tassel - not even for special order.

Now that we have (thankfully) returned from said mission, it's time to jump into the ideas pool with both feet. Listed in the next post are the ideas HLI has collected for consideration, and we hope to have an answering post up within the next few days.

In the meantime, we would like to remind people that this thread is for the expression of ideas only. If people wish to discuss the merits of an idea further, it would be appreciated if they began a new topic for it within 'Sleuth Talk'.

Thank you.

#1 Old cars- Cars could be used to save cases between cities and/or have an extra slot for an item (the trunk).

#19 Ability to pay to dump a contact
#20 Postal system to mail items to other sleuths, instead of having to switch agencies to trade equipment
#21 Detective shop: pay a small fee to have access to favor items and items sold by other detectives.
#22 Another use for hostage negotiation: use negotiation to get another lead on a new map once the old map is no longer good.
#23 Crime labs in apartments
#24 Marketing team
#25 Option for agencies to open another branch in the same or a different city
#26 Have the suspect crossed out after they are checked against PE
#27 Sleuthetania: cases in progress go into temporary storage so the player can finish the case if they reboard the ship before it leaves the docks

May I suggest #23 to be a piece of furniture to have less impact on balance.

And may I also suggest the possibility of #16 to be a feature of having an agency clerk? Because it would make sense if you send the money to the clerk and he or she pays the rent.

Not a high priority idea... more of a housekeeping task.

In the apartments, would it be possible to move the "Buy Furniture" link up into the "Furniture" header so that a sleuth can have three items in a room without triggering those ugly and inconvenient scroll bars?

Don't know if this has been suggested, but what about allowing detectives to open a savings account at the bank? A low interest rate could be offered for an account that can be withdrawn from freely, but higher interest could be given to long term deposits that are locked in for a period of time ranging from six months up to five years.
