I have a couple of questions I'd like some feedback on. Please Answer by replying to this post.

1) Is the game fun? Really fun, kind of fun, funner than going to the dentist?

2) Can you think of anything that would make the game more fun?

3) Is the game too hard? Too easy?

Thanks
-Ben

Hi Stooby - re your number 2 - nah! that would be too easy! doesn't happen in real life, well sometimes i suppose it does. one thing i particularly like about the way this game works is that it is realistic. people do clam up, they do need to be bribed, they do run away, you can get "contacts" but sometimes they don't want to be as helpful as one would like.

Hi Piccolo well I guess my alternative sugestion wouldn't go down to well with you either! LOL! That was going to be:

If you are on a favour for a Townie why can't they be your contact for the time of the favour? They are after all the one that wants you to solve case for them. Seems a little silly that the get tight liped and mess thing up!

Anyway they are only suggestions, the game plays great without them, I personaly thought these would make things more realistic.

both the suggestions you make Stooby are ones that have been made many times over a period of time, and your "No. 2" is nearly the first ever question I asked on the Boards (as Paranoid). Somebody I'm sure had made it before me too, probably the day after Ben invented the game!. :D

I still hold to the principle, that my contact - if they ARE going to answer ALL my questions anyway, as they will - should just say, "I can see you're a busy person SS, so let's cut to the chase, the thread belongs Joe Bloggs ... oh and have a nice day." That's more realistic then going in out out of a shop front 11 times to ask the same question to the same person knowing that ultimatley that person is obliged to give you the answer. (Unless Ben's trying to create a little Sleuth bureaucracy :) )

But in general, overall, I agree with Piccolo, what's the point of having a game where the answers are handed to you on a silver platter?

But yes, 'realism' it seems, take many shapes and forms.

Can't you see how much fun the townie's get from making you ask 11 questions? Their just passive agressive. They dislike all detectives. :)

Ah AmazingAmanda you may have a point there. Well tell all the Townies I'm on strike! No more favours for them!!!

And SS I see both sides of the coin and I'm happy for Ben to choose which way it goes. This thread was for to long to check what everyone had written and I probably overlooked all the ones looking like mine!

Ok , I love the game. Right difficulty.

I like the suggestion about having a way of asking who the PE belongs to, but it should only work for contacts. Anyone else should say something like, "Sorry comparing to all suspects would take too much time. I have a buisness to run." If the detective has failed to find the suspect, the contact could say, "This evidence matches no one you have found."

Also, I'd like to see a name change credit to give users the ability to change their names. Sletuhs might pick a name and decide they don't like it.

Stooby has a very good point, and one I've thought about for a long while. I think I mentioned it somewhere but can't remember if a reply was posted - perhaps I just didn't read it! The threads do get very long - what would be really helpful is a search facility. The same questions do get asked time and time again and I'm sure that is partly the reason.

So - any chance of a search facility being added to the noticeboard? Please?

Hi Piccolo i may have completely miunderstood your question here because i've just woke up and am still half asleep :).

But the the message boards do have a search function, having said that, if i understand correctly it hasn't been working just recently.

ah! perhaps I just look for it on the occasions that it's not working! Thanks, I'll keep my eyes open for it's return.

It's my age you know. One's eyes aren't so good when one reaches my advanced years. I see the search facility on the first page - I tend to look for it within the specific board! My fault - as I say, age! Thank you again, Ms Helen.
