Since I see many of you can be creative, I thought I'd ask you all..

I have to write a research paper, between 4000-5000 words and I can write about ANYTHING (but something real of course) and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about what I might be able to write about?

All ideas are welcome, but try to think about the extent of research I might be able to find.

Thanks for your help!!

The effect of superheroes as rolemodels in the upbringing of young people or as a way to vent political/sociological philosophies in the given era and context when those superheroes were created. What sign of the times did they express or illustrate?

It's for a freshman english class in college. In order to get Honors credit for the course, I have to do a research paper. Personally I'm into pop culture and things like that, I like the idea of the reality shows. Thanks all for your input! It really helps.

Hmm... you could do a paper on the recent upsurge of talent-based reality shows and what they represent about the changes in American culture since the inception of the genre.

hmmmm.... You could write a paper about how reality television is the new circus side show in America. When I had freshman comp. one of our assignments was to compare the Jerry Springer show to old time sideshows and freakshows. The draw of the bearded lady, the lady to gorilla illusion, sword swallowers, etc... My prof had us go on and on about how Jerry Springer <insert Reality TV> has taken the place of the side show. We just look for the strange and outlandish for entertainment.

Hope that helps generate an idea. :0) Good luck. And 5000 words is nothing.
