Hey!

This is probably a really weird question, but sometimes, i'll have a piece of evidence, for example, a note and when i ask the bank teller, they'll say it's a particular suspect but then, when i go to accuse them it's wrong?!?!
How does that work- is the evidence unreliable?

Another question- what does a smart adjustment do? like i've worked out that a tough adjustment makes your character more intimidating and charm... people are more likely to answer qusetions etc. but what does smart do/

Thanx heaps!

no, in order to accuse, you need evidence AND a false alibi. In any given case there will be evidence that points to the innocent person.

That's why you need to check alibis before accusing.

CFM, allow me

PE (Physical evidence) + false/none alibi = accuse
WE (witness evidence) + false/none alibi = accuse
2WE + no alibi = Accuse

WE+PE DO NOT ACCUSE!! unless person has false alibi

Please, and thank you very much!

I'll only add that a "none" alibi is when they tell you "None of your business", entirely different from not being able to get an answer because they clammed up on you.

*echoes cfm and gradbeth, proud wearers of lovely hats*

Up to three people who aren't the killer can leave evidence at the scene. So only one piece of physical evidence connects to the killer.

As regard the adjustments, wearing smart gear will help your smarts skills have a greater chance of working, which matters when you search a scene for the aforementioned physical evidence, or when you use a smarts skill you might get later like surveillance.

And another lady in a (diffrent) hat jumps in...

If you dont have the basic smart skills (hair, thread). You might not find all the evidnece available. So you might get a case with evidence pointing only to suspects with real alibis.

And finally, a guy WITHOUT a hat pops in!

A smart adjustment increases the chances of finding clues at a crime scene, and(for advanced skills), increases chances to analyze the clue(slim/heavy or male/female).
