Lock Picking or Research? Just wondering if you pick a lock, are you able to steal some money or items? What about research? Can you find clues in the city hall? The skills help doesn't states clearly.

Total n00b question about research... Is it available to Tough/Charming archetypes?
'cos if it is, I think that's where my skill points will be going.

Yes, it is available to everyone. You just have to pay full price for it.

It is 13 points as long as you are not a smart archtype.

I just realised that there's also a pick pocketing skill... Anyone knows what's the use of this skill? Does it enables us to steal things from suspects?

Jake, it's available to all archetypes. In fact, all skills are, just maybe for different amounts of skill points. So, happy researching!

Pick Pocketing-the discription on the help menu in the selecting skills section is really good and specific. It will only help you get the $$ that is really yours. So it makes it so a client can't rip you off before going to the Green Mile.
All Skills are avalible to all detectives. You archetype will make those skill cheaper to you.
Example: Tough and smart
Normally 12 points turns to 10, in the Smart AND the Tough skills. Charming skills would stay 12.
Example: Very Tough
Normally 12 points turns to a lovely 8! but only in the Tough skill set. In the Charming AND the Smarts, it would stay set at 12.
