I've been thinking about a couple of things that might be good to add for detectives to buy, and I want to get your opinion. The first one is a pet monkey. As we have bloodhounds, I think it's only fair that we have other animals too. A monkey on the shoulder could be very charming , drawing people in. It could also be trained in pickpocketing, so as to give detectives another choice other than to spend their skill points on the skill. plus, a monkey could be trained to be tough. A snarling monkey can be very intimidating.
The other idea I had was to have a make up kit, comprised of some rubber makeup, a couple of wigs and some other stuff I haven't thought of yet.:) It could be used to enhance the surveillance skill, or charm or tough skills, depending on what is in the kit.
I would appreciate any input on these ideas.:)

Luniar...depending on how you do the math, you could actually think of it as a 5% difference (1 point is 5% of 20)
That said, I am not sure how much difference it really makes, LilRach. Since I've been playing Almost Impossible cases, I've started relying on judge of character, and it seems that the randomized clam-up range is so broad it washes out the 1 point difference. (example - I have had some suspects clam up even though my charm influence adds to over 110 pts, and others happily answer two questions when my charm points are less than 90.

Hmm...I do wonder how the clam-up range is determined though. It would be more interesting to know, than necessity.

Dogberta, my point exactly. You don't know WHAT numbers are going to show up. All that's known is that most of the time, it ain't pretty. And... *pokes the 110"%" clam* ...I'm afraid that'll happen to me...!

Ben you could put a cat in, but its set up would probably need to be:
Tough: -5
Smart: -5
Charming: -4 (because even those they may be cute isn't not like they are going to let you use them anyway) :D

Oh, I think a cat would have to have a randomizing effect on test points. On a good day it would increase your charm and smart, another day it would decrease both, but increase tough... depending on what mood it was in.
