I've had this idea before, but the recent exploits of TAKKDD have solidified my idea that it might actually be possible: The First Annual Sleuth Convention. Why not?

The ideal place would, of course, be the mecca of it all--Boulder, Colorado. But if Ben & Sunny don't want all the hoopla so close to home, anywhere else would be fine as well. We could plan it a few months out so that people have time to plan up & save for airfare, etc. Those who are interested can come and meet those they know (and don't know) from Sleuth.

Want even more fun? What if everyone dressed up like a character from Sleuth (your character, the butcher, the lady with the magnifying glass, Larry the Toe, etc)?

Would anyone besides me & Moonshh be interested? Or is this a totally lame idea?

Well, NZ would be great! I would love to get back there someday! However, it's possible that the planefare might deter a person or two from the other side of the world...

I think the first places to hold these meetings would logically be:

New York
London
Delhi
Shanghai

And we need to find a podiatrist or foot doctor to take our frustrations out on (hehe)

It will be held in about 20 minutes. So far Dionne Dawson and myself will be attending. :)

hey... it's a bit unfair to keep it in the states.. how about plan a cruise or something.. that way everybody has to leave their continent, or island like me... to meet everyone.. in the next 3 yrs or so when some of us would actually have jobs and not be in uni

Frankly it can be cheaper for a European to fly to the states, then it is to fly to other european countries. :) I met two sleuth people grabbing a flight from Amsterdam to DC, which was a cheaper ticket then it would have been for me to go from Amsterdam to Paris. Paris is only a 6-7 hour drive away from here. :) Also it can be cheaper for a european to fly to NYC, then it is for an American. Alternatively, it is possible it is cheaper for an American to fly to Paris/London/Amsterdam, then it is to other places in the US itself. People tend to think because something is across the world or further away, it must be more expensive. This is not the case.

Considering NYC is a hub where many cheap flights go to, and considering the absolute majority of everybody in here being on the east coast....I think we got a pretty good clue that if an annual sleuth convention was to be held, NYC would be the most obvious.
Sure I'd like to have it in my backyard, but hey only 3 people would attend. :)

I'd be one of the youngest ones there. o_o; And I'd end up dressing up as Kaitou rather than my detective or someone else Sleuth-related. xP
