After a period of absence, THE RESISTANCE has returned to the Sleuth boards with a healthy Yeti-flavoured taste.

For those unfamiliar, The Resistance is a social game of limited information. Players are split into two teams, one team being true members of the resistance, and the other being spies who have infiltrated the group. Over a course of five missions, resistance members aim to have three missions succeed, whereas spies aim to sabotage three of them. The only way for players to communicate with each other will be through this thread.

I'll post a detailed set of rules once the sign up process is over, but to give you an idea of how the game goes the first The Resistance thread on the Sleuth boards is here: http://noir.playsleuth.com/map/cityhall/post.spy?id=34582&first_record=302111

We'll need five to ten players in order to start the game. I'd like to keep this game flowing, so before putting your name down please make sure that to the best of your knowledge you'll be able to log in at least once a day for the next two weeks. You will not receive financial payment for playing THE RESISTANCE.

Thank You Soheir and Devi for your reasonings but Devi I'm still a little confused, I thought the purpose of the power was to allow you to know someone else's alliance and I understand about the mystery and fun part but how much more fun would it have been to know another's alliance, that is unless you were more worried about your own being revealed.

And of course I echo Soheirs comments about your adding to the game and a big thanks to Yeti for getting all of this started.

ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE: The player who receives this will immediately and privately learn the allegiance of the power distributor via PM from me. The distributor can use the power on themselves should they wish. The power must be used immediately.

If I am not mistaken, it means that the player who receives (Soheir in this case) will learn of the allegiance of the power distributor (aka me). Soheir's power was the other way around, which was much more useful.

Ah my mistake, and my apologizies. I'm following your reasoning now, a woman should be allowed to keep her sense of mystery and intrigue and of course you were quite right in choosing someone who had already been given that information.

The mission will be proceeding. Soheir, Mac, and H please message me with your SUCCESS/SABOTAGE votes. Resistance members must vote SUCCESS, whereas spies can choose to vote SABOTAGE if they wish.

You're all very welcome for the game, I too am glad to see some activity in a Noir thread. Thanks also for the kind words on the storyline.

In Cairo it's 9:00 am and already very hot and getting hotter. I'm sitting in the Coffee Shop wishing they had a bar somewhere around here and trying to feep the flies away. Honestly I don't see the need to drink coffee when it already over 90 degrees in the morning. Mac and Soheir are with me, Mac and I look seriously wilted from the heat our starched shirts were no match for this heat, but Soheir look cool as a cucumber. We've set a trap for Sir Crazy Eyes Wolf and are just waiting to spring it. However I'm a little concerned that he might escape; I think there might be a fly in the ointment in the form of a Spy. I'm just waiting for them to make a slip-up and let Sir Crazy Eyes escape.

But that would be a big mistake, because if we aren't a success the I'm pretty sure who one of the traitor's is.

I real smart guy once said "If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask, for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes." He also said "When I examine myself and my methods of thought, I come to the conclusion that the gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing positive knowledge." Like I said a real smart guy.
