After a period of absence, THE RESISTANCE has returned to the Sleuth boards with a healthy Yeti-flavoured taste.

For those unfamiliar, The Resistance is a social game of limited information. Players are split into two teams, one team being true members of the resistance, and the other being spies who have infiltrated the group. Over a course of five missions, resistance members aim to have three missions succeed, whereas spies aim to sabotage three of them. The only way for players to communicate with each other will be through this thread.

I'll post a detailed set of rules once the sign up process is over, but to give you an idea of how the game goes the first The Resistance thread on the Sleuth boards is here: http://noir.playsleuth.com/map/cityhall/post.spy?id=34582&first_record=302111

We'll need five to ten players in order to start the game. I'd like to keep this game flowing, so before putting your name down please make sure that to the best of your knowledge you'll be able to log in at least once a day for the next two weeks. You will not receive financial payment for playing THE RESISTANCE.

Very serious and wise words, Lou.

However, I for one am grateful that Devi didn't pass on the power. When you think of it from my perspective, both she and I are Resistance. If she gives the power to anyone else, there are high odds that it will end up in the hands of a spy. And what would a spy do with the power? Well, if I were them, I would have used it to lie and say that I found out that Devi was a spy and that therefore Soheir must be one too.

Of course, to my fellow unknown resistors, from your perspective it could also seem like that we are in fact spies and that's why Devi didn't hand it over to anyone.

These powers are a curse! Bad Yeti, bad boy! ;)

Regardless, thanks Devi. :)

Well, the logic is the following. Soheir said I was Resistance. She may or may not have been lying. Either way, she has that answer from Yeti since last round.

The power I received would have revealed my allegiance to yet another player. I think a little mystery does us all some good and keeps us on our toes, thus making the game a lot more fun.

Oh, and I've been meaning to say a couple of things:

1) Thank you Yeti for setting up the game. It's nice to see an active, fun thread on Noir.

2) The narration has been fantastic - and hats off to Devi to contributing - why didn't I think of that. :)

3) Thanks to the game, I think my deductive logic skills have increased ever so slightly - always a good skill for a detective to develop. :) Thanks again.

Thanks Soheir. We can all add in a little role playing to make it even more fun.

Oh, and for the record, I'm not 100% sure about anyone's allegiance thus far, except for mine, of course.

Thank You Soheir and Devi for your reasonings but Devi I'm still a little confused, I thought the purpose of the power was to allow you to know someone else's alliance and I understand about the mystery and fun part but how much more fun would it have been to know another's alliance, that is unless you were more worried about your own being revealed.

And of course I echo Soheirs comments about your adding to the game and a big thanks to Yeti for getting all of this started.

ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE: The player who receives this will immediately and privately learn the allegiance of the power distributor via PM from me. The distributor can use the power on themselves should they wish. The power must be used immediately.

If I am not mistaken, it means that the player who receives (Soheir in this case) will learn of the allegiance of the power distributor (aka me). Soheir's power was the other way around, which was much more useful.

Ah my mistake, and my apologizies. I'm following your reasoning now, a woman should be allowed to keep her sense of mystery and intrigue and of course you were quite right in choosing someone who had already been given that information.

Soheir Hassan NO
DevilishWings YES

Sal Iva YES
Mac Kerrell YES

The mission will be proceeding. Soheir, Mac, and H please message me with your SUCCESS/SABOTAGE votes. Resistance members must vote SUCCESS, whereas spies can choose to vote SABOTAGE if they wish.

You're all very welcome for the game, I too am glad to see some activity in a Noir thread. Thanks also for the kind words on the storyline.
