:) So far SS and Greyling are tied with 4 answers. I will give a hint on #6. Knowing what I know, I wouldn't drink it if they paid me to.

I LOVE the Discovery Channel! *grin*

Oh, and a Tootsie Roll is a 'log' of chocolate 'taffy' type candy. Comes in 3 sizes: The big one (candy bar sized), the little one (about 1/5th the size) and the itty bitty one (bite sized)

Is it as simple as "tropical" or that it grows on a plant instead of a tree.

Then I'll go with that and Lucian's answers.

Ok, looks like that's all that are going to try. Good Job, All!

1. Leo Hirshfield used the nickname for his daughter - "Tootsie," to name the chocolate chew candy.
2. Giant Sequoia or California Redwood
3. Mercury
4. Europe
5. For the World Fair in 1889
6. The beans are passed through a 'gourmet marsupial's' digestive system and picked out of the excrement to be cleaned and sold at $100 per pound. The variety is called "Kopi Luwak"- As Lucian said, ugh! And although marsupials are not actually monkeys I will give the point.
7. 7-9 days. The length of time it takes them to starve to death
8. People you have your smiles upside down!!! It takes only 17 muscles to smile and 43 to frown. *grin*
9. Dragonfly Yup! This pretty little hovercraft can zip along faster than any other insect.
10. The banana. In fact the banana tree is not a tree. It is a plant and is believed to have been the or one of the first fruiting plants.

BONUS: Pineapples are classified as a berry. *grin*

Since jstkdn used Lucian's answers she and Lucian tie for first with 7 points.

LOL SS! thankfully I'm a non-religious herbalist with a somewhat 'off kilter' sense of humor. *grin*
