I have a specific contact I am trying to get. I keep asking if I can do favors for that contact, but the city characters keep telling me to see the waiter that they have work for me. I don't want the waiter as a contact. How do I bypass this to only do favors for a particular person?

Well you could open the favour for the waiter and quit. And hope the next favour will bring the right one. The waiter favour will remain there, if you don't at least open it.

However, keep in mind, that playing a favour may not mean you actually get the contact. So if you going to quit all favours, to get the priest, you may have to pay a bunch of priest favours to get the contact. This means quitting a lot of cases, and loosing a lot of money.

But if the specific contact is worth that much to you, then yes, I guess it would be worth to loose the money, and spend a time, and waste the cases.

Maybe next time post this kind of stuff in newbies. In case others have the same question, that is the first place they look.

It also depends on what contact you're looking for. Since you already have a butcher contact, doing favors for the waiter, priest, butcher, fortune teller, music teacher or bartender won't influence your second contact. If you're looking for a banker contact, you only need to quit tailor, barber and shoe maker favors.

Besides, we need the waiter for a treasure hunt :)

remember you can only have one contact of each group. so as bryola said there is no use for you to avoid the waiter since u cant get it.

Just want to ask that if you have the fortune teller for a contact, does that mean you don't need to pay $20 for a fortune?

Tzu Hin, nope. He's friendly about everything else, but still wants his money for his professional tasks. Just as I imagine the butcher still wants money for meat, etc.
