If I have equipment that doesn't fit my archetype, does that damage my skills? For example, I have a black coat at the moment which is +2 toughness, but I am smart and charming. Should I get rid of the coat?

If you have matched your skills to your Archetype, it can. Click on your detective tab, toward the upper right you will see how your equipment is helping or hurting your SKILLS in the upper right hand corner. You can also click on each peiece of equipment, to see what each one is doing, to know what to keep and what to sell. (Your archetype makes certain skills less expensive for purchase, that is why you usually match the two.)

Okay... so if it says 2 toughness in my adjustments, that just adds to any toughness I may have, rather than taking away from charm. Cool. I'll keep the lovely black coat then :-)

You really only need tough or charming skills for the game. There are some recent threads in the newbie section that go into greater detail. You might dig through them.

Ben (he's the WONDERFUL guy who made the game, right?) definitely should. I've read back a couple of months on all the message boards but I still have loads of questions which I'm sure have come up a million times before!!

Hmm. Guys in leopardskin fezes have never really done it for me, I'm afraid :-) I have a mad crush on the *game* though!!

Can I ask about agencies? Someone asked me to join one. I didn't even know what they are! They said something about treasure hunts and having fun. I looked at the help file and that didn't explain much. Are they a way to get more cases, or just another kind of message board or -- I don't know what!
