I recently found an awesome party/social game called "The Resistance" that my friends and I love to play. The premise is very similar to games like "mafia" and "werewolf"; you have a group of players, in which some of them are working against the group and have knowledge the others don't.

In "The Resistance", you are basically members of an underground organization known as "The Resistance" attempting to destroy the establishment. However, among you there are counter-agents, or "Imperial Spies" who are working to sabotage your efforts. The spies know who they are, as well as who else is a spy, but will for all intents and purposes appear to be working toward the goals of the Resistance.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions". The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

Seems extremely complicated and I'm sure lends itself to hilarity in us figuring out what we are supposed to do.

I'm definitely in!!!

OK. This is the part that makes it all make sense:
YOU MAY NOT PM OTHER PLAYERS ABOUT THE GAME!

Before that part I didn't get it. :-)

OK, we have 5 so far, which is the minimum needed. So, I'll give it a few more hours, to see if anyone else wants to join (we can have as many as 10).

So far, we have:
Special_K
Nicnic
Danny Mack
Cekuray
Molly Maltese
(and room for up to 5 more)

I'm going to try to give an example of a round, so people see what's going on...

5 Players: A,B,C,D,E
A & B are spies

A is selected to run the first mission, choosing 2 players. He picks players B and C to go, knowing B is a spy.

A votes for this mission (obviously), as does B since he knows it will fail.
C votes for it as well, since he's resistance and figures the mission will either succeed or that he'll know that B is a spy (because if B throws a sabotage card, C knows he wasn't the one who did.)
D and E vote no, since each one knows they are resistance, they want to be in the mission to give it better chances of succeeding.
The mission is approved 3-2, and B and C PM me their actions
B chooses "Sabotage", C must choose "Success" (resistance ALWAYS chooses success)
I reveal that the mission failed, and that one player chose to sabotage it.
Everyone now knows that either B or C must be a spy.
A,B, and C know that B is a spy, but A and B will be trying to convince D and E that the spy was C. C will be trying to convince A (whose allegiance is unknown), D, and E that B is the spy.

So, next round, a new leader (B) sets a new mission team, and so on and so forth.
