Tournament of the Champions
Amidst the blare of Sleuthville's cars and the general noise of the city streets, Riza acends a cardboard box at City Hall, clearing her throat.
Annoyed at getting no response from the hundreds of detectives around her chasing murderers and getting drunk at the bar, she grabs Anais Nin, who is walking by, by the shoulders and whispers something into her ear.
Anais nods. A second later, a shrill shriek rips through the air, making many people jump and exclaim in surprise. Riza smiles, thanks Anais, and starts to speak.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the time has come once again for a Villain Hunt Tournament! Recently, seeing how contests are always fun and bring the community together--both spectators and participants--the Vidocq Society is honored to host the Tournament of the Champions.
What's that you say? You're not a champion? Pfft, who cares? What is a champion but one who rises to greaness? You all have the chance to obtain greatness and immortalize yourselves! Each and every single one of you. *points at everyone in turn*
That being said, anyone who wants to join, please post here. The match will start on Monday March 8, 2010 at 0:00 sleuth server time. Now on to the rules.
-travel to Shangri La the night before, but NOT start the hunt
-use a travel kit
-use head of faction privileges
-use agencies and apartments to swap gear
You may not:
-use sidekick cases
-enter second/third detectives, etc.
Basically, you're on the honor code.
The format will be 8 or 16 detectives, depending on turnout, each randomly paired off by a third party to face one other person. The winner from each round will go on to the next round. Same day captures are considered ties, and will result in a triple threat match. The last one standing wins.
Gopher to the Sleuth Gods
Glad your back Breit and good luck with your hunt!
And now for a little good news....
;-D ;-D ;-D ;-D ;-D
Take THAT, Don Alfonso Kaloyenov!! Hope yer head's feeling as bad as mine has been through that whole little five day, round-the-world goose chase you just put me through. May they lop it off with a rusty axe!! ;-D
Hi guys!! Thank you!! :-D
Who's up for round two, in, ohhh, bout, August??
;-D ;-D ;-D
Oh Breit, i haven't checked in for a while and sad to hear about your headache problem. I'm so glad it's alright now, and boy! you are one nifty fighter aren't you? :) Good for you!! Congrats on your victories, both inside and outside sleuth ;)
Everyone still on the AV hunt, good luck to all. May the best and luckiest win :)
Glad to hear you're feeling better, Breit! :)

Congrats Lady Zeugirdor! Good luck in the coming rounds.
My first failed hunt :(
Oh, Keira Ann, I'm sooo sorry to hear that. I'd say we could have a rematch, but I'm not the lady in charge. May be next time!
Breit, congrats on finishing and I hope you are feeling super in no time!
Congrats on your hunt, Breit!
Annoying quit cases and repeat clues. ;)
Good luck everyone!!! :D
Hunt finished! Wow I think that's the fastest I've ever completed an AVH. After a run of bad luck on my 1st day I thought for sure I was out of this.
Congratulations on capturing your villain Mr. VonVictor (or is it Hr. von Victor?). I must say I enjoyed going up against you (both times) and accept my defeat at the hand of a very worthy adversary. I wish you the best of luck for the next round and hope to run into you again at some occasion.
And Breitkat, I wish you all the best for the remainder of the hunt. There is still time that could enable you to manage a tie and make it on to the next round.
And for everyone else, thank you for a very entertaining Tournament and I wish you the best of luck on your hunts.
Thank you for your kind words Ms. Rune. You were a worthy adversary as well. You were one city ahead of me the past two days and I would have placed money on your victory in this round.
It was indeed only a run of luck that allowed to to solve city 3 in four cases and gave me my final clue for city 4 on my last none sidekick case. Were the co-conspirator any other person, it would have taken me at least 2 more pieces of info to win that final city.
In other news, all this travelling enabled me to pick up my final skill, Puglism. Now if only I could find a way to get trap detection I'd be in business.
