Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.
Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

It was instant coffee and while the cup had coffee in it the secretary hadn't added the boiling water yet.

Or, the earring caught on the side of the cup, and did not therefore fall into the coffee.

It was surrounded by a magical forcefield that prevented any water from touching it!

Its another riddle
By night and day I patrol
Always moving, never stopping
Missing nothing, touching all
Life and death is in my grasp
Sometimes gentle, sometimes fierce
You are all in my clasp.
What am I?

A hooker?
(And this has by no means a relation to the above answer.)
