Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.

Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

Correct, the story does not say the glass was filled with water, just said it was a water glass. :) So any answer that said, there was no water in there, was correct!!!!

Another:

jstkdn:- To limit the individual risk on any bet?
To prevent a client doubling up until they either win and bankrupt the house or lose everything they own. An old con trick was to run a independent game with no limit and then cheat to steal a mugs money.

Another easy one:
Granny Smith boarded the last car of a passenger train to find every seat occupied. She set her luggage down just as the train was passing the "Soul-Ace Hotel". Granny walked forward through the train at the steady speed of 1.5. mph. An half hour later, Granny reached the front of the train. Still unable to find a seat she headed back to her luggage, walking at the same speed as before. When she reached her luggage, they were passing City Hall which is 10 miles from the "Soul-Ace Hotel." How fast was the train moving?
