Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.
Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

Ok, here's one more. If anybody answers this in a hurry I am going home!
What goes up, but at the same time goes down, up to the sky and down to the ground, my present tense and my past tense too, lets go for a ride just me and you...what am I?
Answers on a postcard.

Here's my contribution to the cause (too lazy to see if it's been posted in the last 2 years.)
When the authorities arrive, their first observation was:
"Male victim, dead on arrival. Surrounded by 53 bicycles."
How did he die?
*******This is a lateral thinking puzzle, and as such I will allow people to ask yes/no style questions to figure out the answer*******

No, his death does not involve falling, nor did he have a heart attack during a bike race.
Crunch, PM me your answer and I'll let you know if you're actually right.

*sells the seeds on the black market to cheap parents of idiot chilren*
No race. No fall. Ask more about the bicycles.

Are the bicycles complete, ie not in pieces?
Have the bicycles fallen over?

Serges,
Sorry about ruining your riddle for everyone. I was half asleep when I read it and didn't realize you wanted people to be guessing on line.
To make up for it, here's one:
A man and woman were driving along a road. The man saw a sign and then shot the woman. Why?
This is also a lateral thinking puzzle and I will entertain "yes" and "no" questions. It is a tough one and if you want the answer, just PM me.
*tips hat*
