Everyone has suggestions for new things they would like to see in Sleuth. Well, this is a thread for those ideas. Just post a one or two line synopsis of your concept(s), with a small additional informational blurb if two lines is not enough to capture it. Discussions regarding specific ideas will take place in a separate thread, to keep this one running smoothly. Please do not include complaints, critiques, or other discussion on this thread, for purposes of flow. Anything that is not specifically done for the purpose of outlining an idea will be deleted.

All ideas will be considered; even if no discussion thread for them is immediately started, don't lose heart. Ready, get set, post!

12) More useful Detective Shop - It would be possible to add new items to the Detective shop.
13) Hospitals - Sleuth Noir is not a time-based game, so disallowing people the ability to play for so long doesn't make sense. This kind of thing could work in Shades of Mystery, where a detective could lose a few hours on a case while they get patched up.
14) Add old cars to profiles - This is interesting, but some use would have to be found for having cars before this would be added.
15) City News posts for Losers - It is always better to quit rather than to guess, so pointing out that someone has quit something is not motivational.
16) Buying back stolen books - With some tweaking, this idea could be made useable.
17) Mobile Sleuth App - This is an interesting idea. However, there are concerns that a mobile application would detract from people playing the game here.
18) Payment for the money twist - This twist was not written to allow the detective to get any money, and obtaining $5000 for a case with a maximum payoff of $1000 would be counter productive.
19) Lower cost for Sleuthetania - This will be put forward to Sleuth Admin.
20) Casino - This is being considered.
21) "Blue Pistol" missions - Collecting items from Crime Scenes for use later is something that will be considered.
22) New type of property - There is no distinct advantage to having a property that is similar to an agency but with less functionality.

Regarding Scripted Mysteries - These will be added as they are completed. Only the writers of Scripted Mysteries can influence this. Submissions that have been carefully reviewed and play-tested by the author will spend less time in editing and therefore be playable more quickly.
Regarding new cities/factions - There are no plans to add new cities/factions at this time, as they will not add any new functionality to the game. If anyone has an idea for a city that will bring something new to the game, please post it.

In the interest of making my idea (no.17) clearer the sleuth app would be quite restricting so as to entice new players. It's really a promotional technique.

I really like the "old cars" idea, and have some ideas for their use.

Cars could be used to save cases between cities (saving time getting to the docks or train station or even travel between cities), and perhaps even have an extra slot for an item you can change into in the trunk. It shouldn't be easy to gain though. Perhaps cost the same as an appartment and at the same time be rewarded through a mystery (like the doomsayers trilogy, or a secret, or through a number of special favours for a faction or a combination of factions). And cars use gasoline and need repairs as well, and would need a daily/weekly expense to keep running.

Feedback recieved. Message understood. I will take care of my own wishes.

As for the record when it comes to # 4; both the Battery, the Telephone and the Radio was invented in 18 hundred and something, and availiable to people in 1920. At least in my country...

Irene,

While all that was available then, the technology to use it effectively was not. I'm not sure what you mean by take care of your own wishes but by all meand go for it. Here are a few links for the some research on all of them. The battery one is probably the most interesting read

All that being said, lets look at HL original post:

Very interesting, ctown! Thanks for the reads. I also found this interesting:

I would love to see #5, the "Stop townies clamming up on their own favors", in place. That is my biggest want.

Adding to yoyo's idea of a mini game app, it would be good to put one on Facebook as well. I know other companies have done so, like Pop Cap Games having a greatly reduced Bejeweled game you can play on FB.

I would like there to be more ways to get books, and more books to get. Perhaps the bookstore in Shanghai could sell some? Or buy battered copies from the Library in which we would have to fill in the blanks or decode parts to be able to read it? That would provide a puzzling challenge and more books!
