Before I submit this as a bug/typo, I thought I'd see if someone knows what's up.

The following is a description of the Doomsayer: Killers scripted mystery. The problem is, there is no Doomsayer: The Prisoner even on the full listing of London scripted mysteries. Any ideas on how to play this mystery or what might have happened to the Doomsayer: The Prisoner mystery?

Please do note: I have looked at the full listing of scripted mysteries for London, not just those listed on my case page.

Doomsayer: Killers
Terrence Zorn is a hunted man, and now a captive of unknown enemies. But there is more to his kidnapping than simple revenge. The great killers of the underworld have been summoned, and all will not survive.

Prisoner, Killer, and finally Gift.

Ah, I see. Perhaps it would be kinder to write that on each of the parts? You know, so that people know that they are in other cities.

Something like:

You must complete Doomsayer: The Prisoner to unlock this mystery. It can be found in New York.

I don't mean to be rude, but I copied and pasted exactly what is written - for the benefit of those who are not in London. So please tell me how that states where to find the other part of the mystery? Somehow, I'm missing it. For those who just don't feel like reading through the entire original message, I'll copy and paste it again.

Nope. It says nothing about having to go to another city to find that mystery. Perhaps half the fun is trying to figure out if the other part exists, and if so, where on earth it can be found?

That information is not in the short description of that mystery and I didn't bother clicking on it for more information, since I knew I had not completed the first part.

As Doomsayers: The Prisoner isn't located in London, it would make sense (to me, at least) that the case is located, like people have said, in another city. Like David said, when the mysteries first came out, they were widely advertised as to where each was located. People were also warned about giving away too much 'spoiler' info. Perhaps it isn't as clear as mud, as it were, but there are quite a few threads on the City Hall boards about Doomsayers. You might do some reading up before you submit your bug report.

Oh and you're not being rude Ramses, you're right enough. Me, I don't think it matters it doesn't say wher the next part of the trilogy is.

If you're playing a game where you have to figure things out, it's probably fairly appropriate that you have to go "looking" for the next piece of the puzzle, eh?

Thanks for the help. Breitkat, it doesn't necessarily follow that if a mystery is mentioned in London and is not listed in London that it must be somewhere else. There is always the element of human error. If someone accidently deleted it, etc? It ought to say where the previous part can be found, even if just for us old folks who have seen way too much human error to assume that it doesn't exist.

I guess I could just spend my cases and money traveling around to try to find the other parts of mysteries, but I'm too cheap. :p

Oh, and as to the City Hall Boards:

They are too disorganized and cluttered. I don't have the whole day to page through 20 some odd pages, looking through dozens of threads per page, for a specific topic regarding a potential bug or typo, just because someone thinks along these lines:
If it is not in London, it must be someone where else. Or something equally logically unsound.

Each thread often also has a lot of non-sense in it and many deleted posts (deleted posts within the thread, for those who didn't catch that I'm not talking about deleted threads).

A search feature would be the best answer. Then one could check, with relative speed, to see if such a topic exists.

I don't see why it is too much trouble to write that little line on the mystery description telling where the previous part is located at. I'm sorry that I was unable to play when these mysteries were so widely advertised, but that information is not listed in the description of the mystery as it really ought to be.

As far as I'm concerned, I'll just not report bugs or typos - or even suspected ones, if I'm expected to waste my time filing through that many old threads in search of potential information on the issue in question. I know that people here get tired of answering the same questions over and over again. I also know that a lot of the info is contained in the sticky threads. Have you looked through those lately? The Welcome Newbies one is literally filled with chatter and deleted posts. There is a lot of good info in there. Perhaps it should be copied into a new thread and that thread should be locked, if possible.

Anyone else remember that episode of the Simpsons where they dig a hole and then realise they are down so deep they can't get out and someone says 'I know, DIG UP'...

There is a Boards Search feature at the top of the Message Board main page, and I typed in Doomsayers, and got the answer to your question with not much effort at all.

Actually SS, the search function is only there when you are looking at the overall message boards.

If you are in the Newbie section, or Sleuth talk etc. then the search function is not visible.

One minor problem that I am sure will be fixed one day.
