A place to talk about the new game coming out from the developers of Sleuth Noir.

Oh, and the FBI has announced that they will be firing all of their criminal profilers and will instead be using the Sleuth: Shades of Mystery engine to solve serial killings.

The city map and neighborhood map screenshots have been updated. Those others were about a month old.

So Shades of Mystery will be similar to (but better than ) Gumshoe online?

I was thinking about Stooby's question for Ben on the Another Interview with Ben thread. It was definitely a good one. But since I don't have a question, but rather a suggestion, I thought I'd post it here. Stooby asked:
"...will there be a way to reserve your character name for SOM? I can see some unscrupulous types diving in and nicking the names and persona of our much beloved detectives before we get the chance."
Although I cannot imagine taking someone else's name from Noir, I suppose that could happen. Maybe Ben could make it possible for subbed members of Noir who wanted to sub for SoM get kind of an advance ticket in. They could set up their detectives and choose whether to keep the same name or change it. Actual play, of course, could commence for everyone at the same time. Just a way for subbed members who want to support both games to be given a little something and a general incentive for people to subscribe to SoM.

Will Shades of Mystery be everything Slueth Noir is and isn't? I mean, will we be able to have treasure hunts, arch villian hunts, featured mysteries, ect.? If not, what is a good reason to make me want to play SoM rather than Sleuth Noir-I can't subscribe to both!

Oh yeah, what about apartments? Will we have all the cool stuff that makes Sleuth Noir cool, and new stuff that will make it cooler. Treasure hunts, villian hunts, apartments, groups like Cosa Nostra etc., multiple cities, and stuff like that?
