A place to talk about the new game coming out from the developers of Sleuth Noir.

Yes to Yoyo.

I think it is good to clarify that they are different games (Thanks for such clear info Ben!) for potentially different audiences.

After Sleuth Con and talking with some former Noir players, they were very happy to find out that this was not just 'more gear, more cities, etc' but a new conceptual way to play a mystery game.

Is there anywhere we can go to see screen shots of the game?

Screenshots are currently not public, no.

Expect to see something with an informational release soon.

Oh, screen shots are now up at the Shades of Mystery page in City Hall.

Three up, three to come.

I'm guessing just by looking at the screen shots that it's no longer in a 1920's-1930's time frame.

The time frame for SoM is in the 1950's.

New evidence types of Tobacco and Lipstick to add to the mix with that time frame also.

1950's :(

I also saw that bullets are also a new type of evidence.

To post publicly what others have asked.

The cases in SoM are timed.

Not real time but game time. You will have so many hours to solve the mystery.

An example using totally random made up numbers:

You have 6 hours to solve a case
Each time you interview a suspect it takes 20 minutes.
So talking to 6 suspects once each takes up 2 hours of time.
If you have to go back and ask another question, 20 more tick off.

And lots of new equipment including Cars.

Also, I just wanted to clear something up. All of the information given on the boards about Sleuth: Shades of Mystery should be considered unofficial, including what is announced by me or big mama... err.. Sunny.

Actually, the real official info is just what's on the Shades of Mystery page in the Game Updates section (cityhall).

I haven't seen much said here that is wrong, but the only features we feel comfortable promising at this point is what is listed on that page. This is a more complex project than Sleuth: Noir, and there is still some question about what we will be able to accomplish by launch. I also want to have the flexibility to change features depending on what we find to be fun in alpha and beta testing.

That's it. Carry on.
