***This is my opinion. Strictly my opinion.***

I've looked at the community, and anyone who's been here longer than 100 days is able to see that Sleuth activity has gone down the tubes. Dead. And what is to blame? The agencies.

Now, agencies aren't the root cause. Let's get that straight. But the way they have been operating is. The problems with agencies are (1) the quantity, (2) the purpose, (3) and the role they play.

Okay, first, the quantity of agencies. Not too long ago, there were about 20-30 agencies. All full at 12 persons each, coming to a total of roughly 240-360 people. That was a good amount. But now, we have almost 120 agencies. That's right. 600% of the amount we had about a year ago. Sure, some may argue that the community has grown, and it certainly has. But 600% growth? I don't think so.

I definately was not complaining about all the info not being in one place. I was just giving a reason why people may join a small agency as opposed to a big agency (as I did). I just jumped into the game bored one day at work never thinking I would ever join a web game and here I am hooked. This is the best thing ever for an awesome price. You can't beat it!!!:)

Ok,

I know I'm late to this conversation... But hey, that's what happens when you don't log in for months at a time. Anyways... I saw Crunch's post about spell check and must say that the computer was correct, from much prior experience: smörgåsbord=orgasming.

Thanks for the mention biggie. It's good to know we've been missed. I've missed my friends here as well.

This is a really great thread, I've enjoyed reading it and my heart is warmed by the lack of vitriol in the discussion. Sleuth has a special place in my heart. It has helped me tremendously by introducing me to Autumnsprings, guided me thru a tough time in my life, and given me so many amazing friends around the world.

To the newbies. Don't hang back. Don't be afraid to join in the discussion. Just jump in. Yes there are inside jokes, but this group really is inviting and friendly. Believe me, they are accepting.

I'm SO never going to a buffet in Scandanavia, or Batavia, or anywhere else that rhymes with it with J-Ro. I'm even thinking about a moratorium on gravi-a on turkey-a in his presence :P

Very glad you brought this up again, sir. He's right: one of the things I like best about sleuth is that, most of the time, most people are pretty nice to one another.

Seriously though, congrats on having your name up in lights Jojo. Just wait until I'm done with this online statistics class. I'm now working towards my Bachelors Degrees. I'm swamped with just getting through the class. Not to mention they changed the account I help at work, so now am at work during the day training, so when I'd normally have been doing homework, I'm still normally doing homework, but can't sleuth right now from work while in training *sigh*

Maybe in 2-3 weeks I'll be back in force! Then watch out. :)

A lot of games have a required level before you can do things.
Why not make it so that you have to have 100 000 experience before you can create and agency? And maybe, you could even make it so you have to have 100 000 exp to be a Director :).

This would also stop people who sub for just a month so they can have an agency to store things in though.

(Oh by the way, Jojo , I don't think I actually told you I agree with pretty much 100% of what you said here.)

I've been thinking about this post (http://noir.playsleuth.com/map/cityhall/post.spy?id=10710&first_record=77313 ) for awhile in light of this one.

Then today someone asked me a question which made me think of this post again.

I think it's an interesting read and an insight into the past. It's also fun to see how things actually worked out when so many predicitions and worries about the future were bought up!
