I am fairly new here too and i can tell you that you will have a great time. You get to meet alot of people here from all over. I think that is one of the reasons i like it so much.... take care and happy sleuthing.. :)

One question of mine is how do you know if you have mail? I sent someone a message yesterday and they haven't written back...I think. Is there a way to check if some one sent you a message?

Sadly - there does not seem to be a way of checking for posts, other than the fact that the most recently updated thread is always top of the list. However, personal messages appear automatically whenever you log in, which is rather nice.
