Registration is NOW being accepted for the October 10th beta test of the Dart Leagues in the AVL ("Arch Villain League").

I need 36 volunteers total to test everything, with the following stipulations:

2 sets of 6 detectives from the same agency (6 Hitchhikers & 6 Sirens, for example)

4 sets of 3 detectives from the same agency (3 Omega, 3 Blood & Dagger, 3 Fat Kitten, 3 SMRT Investigations, for example)

2 sets of 3-man teams regardless of agency affiliation

6 testers who will be teamed up at random.

If you are interested in learning about the AVL or becoming a Beta-Tester, please go to:

www.liquidkourage.net/sleuth

for more information.

If you have already talked to me about being a beta-tester, please PM me for your favlidation code.

***UPDATE***

With the Gamma launch coming up in just a few short days, progress on the site is coming along well. The AVDL match interface is just about finished, with recently added functionality so members can create and disband their own teams, join or quit teams, send invitations, and make seats on their team "private" or "public."

With registration starting to near 100 members, I do find it confusing that only about 25% of the AVL members have signed up for a gamma match yet.
Let me be clear about this:
THE ONLY WAY TO GAIN EXPERIENCE IN THE AVL IS BY COMPETING IN MATCHES!
You can register, participate in the boards, use the message system, and do the "twists" to your heart's content, but you'll soon realize that experience is the key to unlocking the many hidden secrets and surprises in the AVL. SO JOIN A TEAM TODAY!

We still have room for at least 5 more full teams, and several current teams are not completely filled yet. To register a team or sign up for a public seat on a team, just go to the Commissioner's Office in Chicago, find a match that says its accepting teams or entries, and sign up from there. Or, just get a team captain to send you an invitation, and you're in!

As always, if anyone has any questions, either PM an AVL admin or leave a message on the AVL boards.

A little over 48 hours to go, folks. It's crunch time.

***UPDATE***

Ok folks, we are about 12 hours away from the AVL Gamma Launch!

I must thank everyone for the turnout we have received; 90 registered members to date!

Now, if only we could get those members to COMPETE...

Only about 1/3 of registered AVL members are involved in the matches kicking off tomorrow, and at the moment we have 2 full team slots to fill (1 Inter-Agency, 1 Open)

Without competing in matches, you cannot advance beyond the most basic aspects of the AVL, and these Gamma matches are a perfect opportunity to hit the ground running, so SIGN UP!

In other news... you may notice there is a new "team reputation" area on the match details page. You wanted to know what reputation was about... well, this is useful information to solving that mystery.

If we don't fill up those last team spots by 18:00 server time today, I will be forced to combine the 2 unfilled matches into a single Open division match... be forewarned.

Also, I am in the middle of a 24-hour "code-a-thon" trying to get the site 100% ready for Gamma. I will be on Sleuth and the AVL site all day today, as well as on MSN and in Sleuthchat.

I would like to schedule an informal "meeting" at 19:00 server time tonight, in Sleuthchat (www.sleuthchat.com), like we did for beta. This is mostly for people to get a last-minute refresher on how the gamma test is going to work, as well as to answer any questions members might have. Participation is entirely optional, but I recommend you at least sit in and get to know your fellow AVL members.

The AVL is about a lot of things; but mostly it is a way to bring the Sleuth Community together through friendly competition, without worrying about age/experience gaps, agency affiliations, etc. In the AVL, everyone is equal... until people start figuring out the secrets, that is... :)

As always, PM me with any questions. Serges out.

***CORRECTION***

The deadline to join a gamma team is now 21:00 Sleuth Time, as is the informal meeting in Sleuthchat.

I apologize for any confusion; my wife sprang a dinner engagement on me last-minute. :)

t's the internal battle Chelsea has with her conscience I'm sure. Catch the baddy and win her hunt or let them go and and feel at peace with the evil-doer within. (well if you believe the publicity :D)

Personally if I were Chelsea (or any other "evil" character) I would look at VHs as a way to eliminate the competition... :)
