Okay, I'm not exactly sure how the mathematics work, but I know it helps increase the odds that a suspect or townie will talk.

I'm sure someone can give you a more complete explanation :)

I think it is like +tough gear or +charm gear and improves your chances of forcing a person to speak. For some reason though the bonus doesn't appear when you use the Judge of Character skill.

No, not at all. A status bonus is *like* wearing an extra piece of charm or tough gear--it gives you +3 (or whatever the bonus is) chance of your questions being answered.

ok maybe im confused then...why is it under agency stats then...ok for instance I went to someones name and I clicked on the agency they belonged to and it tells you what their agency headquarters is. I clicked on their headquarters with the picture and it has all the statistics of the agency..such as daily rent and number of case files, etc...and at the bottom it says status bones 3 for exampld? If the status bonus has to do with us individually, then why is under the agency statistics...and how do you get a status bonus?
sorry if im confusing you, I'm confused too!

Because even though we get to benefit from the status bonus of the agency individually, the status bonus still has to do with which type of agency you're in - that means the big agencies can give you as much as +3, small agencies maybe just +1 or even 0, and free ranging detectives without agencies will get 0 as well.
Ben has talked about making it visible on the Judge of Character skill together with the rest of the stats that this skill shows when determining which interview method will work best, but has had a ton of other things that had to be done first. However, it doesn't mean that it's not implemented, and like Serena, Tanya and Ara said, it counts as if you were wearing something with a +(whichever bonus your agency has) for tough and charm :)
