I really think that, as humans, our perfection lies in the so many little imperfections that make us different and unique. Among those are our habits and fears.
I am terrified of balloons! The sound of a balloon being blown up makes me jump up and hit the ceiling! Also, bees, maybe coz I've never been stung by one?

Bad habits: here's a nasty one: I'm a heavy smoker. And I nibble, not my nails, but the skin around them (I know, Yuck!)

So come on, let out the dirty secrets ;)

my bad habit is smacking my lips too loudly after eating a delectable piece of sushi.

I dont know if its really a phobia but, I can't stand pitch dark rooms. Whether I am sleeping or walking into a room, cant stand pitch dark :)

Bad habits? Hummmm :) Ok ok ok....I smoke...not real heavy, but I do smoke, and crack my knuckles. I also bite the skin around my nails, as well. (never was a nail biter tho, my nails are long and strong)

I'm sure there many other stupid things I do, BUT, what I've listed are enough heehee :)

As for bad habits, I nag my husband a lot. He has to tell me to quit after a while. Also, I tend to throw my clothes anywhere in our apartment when I change. When laundry day comes, it takes me half the day just to find all the clothes I threw.

As for fears, my biggest fears are snakes and spiders. Living in Kentucky, I quite often come upon them both, and I always scream and run. It is actually funny to see. Luckily I have never taken up smoking. Mostly because I am allergic to the smoke. One sniff and I can't stop sneezing.

I'm with you on the balloons, especially when a little kid starts pressing its chubby little fingers into the balloon, making it give off squeeky noises. I'm on the verge of yelling and screaming that it'll make the ballon explode, but one just doesn't do that to a child, does one? So I sit at the edge of my seat, waiting in agony for the bang - because it always comes, and it always makes me jump even though I know it's coming.

And also yep on the skin around the nails - *lol*

As for big irrational fears, I'm terrified of flying (haven't been on a plane since 1999), which isn't exactly perfect when one of my biggest dreams has always been to see every inch of the world, but at least there are boats, trains and automobiles, and hopefully one day they'll build a brigde across the Atlantic :D

Phobia -- I am claustophobic. I am also afraid of drowning, although I love the water. I dislike Snakes with a passion and like LilRach I see them all the time (I live in Tennessee).
Bad habits -- Closet smoker. Actually quite 18 years ago but like to sneak one when I get the chance. I am great at starting projects but not so good at finishing them also. (I'll wash and dry the clothes but not bother to put them away.

LilRach and MissKimberly, what parts of KY and TN do you live in? I was born and raised in KY (Lexington and surrounding areas), and lived in Nashville, TN for the majority of my 20's and early 30's. I just moved to Florida last week. :-)

As for phobias, hmm, can't really think of any, except maybe driving by semi trucks. Had a car totalled last year by one driving down I-65.

Habits? Smoking. Quit for 2 years once, but picked 'em back up.

I currently live in Louisville, KY. I just moved here about a month ago. However, I have from from the Morehead area, so I basically grew up in Kentucky and my family home in Ohio.

LilRich, I lived in Louisville for a year during high school. We were close to the Shiloh/PRP areas.

Wow, So many smokers! I feel so much more at home here now *puff puff* :-D

I also have the bad habit of throwing my clothes in a huge pile, leaving the closet bare and empty.

And when down or need a drastic change, I take it out on my hair, and I always regret cutting it the second I walk out of the hairdresser. It's long now, let's hope it'll stay that way!

I live just north of Memphis. While I would say I should be outside instead of in, it was over 95 degrees this morning and I'd rather stay in the airconditioning and go out in the evenings or early mornings. I LOVE the hot weather tho. I had written to Christmas Angel, I was born in Wisconsin and it's just too cold for me. Anything below 50 degrees and I'm freezing!
