Just out of curiosity, WHAT IN THE WORLD DOES IT DO? After seeing people who have it equipped, in gives them +1 Tough, -4 Smarts and -3 Charm. This would easily have to be the worst equipment in the game, so why are very good detectives using it?

There are plenty of 'white elephants' in this game. The savvy player discerns between what is worth keeping and what is garbage. You can't always get the good stuff.

I got one of yhose too, when I looked at it I thought "WOW!!! What does it do? What does it do?" and then I just got rid of it straight away...I guess the only good thing is that the useless thing is worth $4000. (On second thought maybe Ben got the plus and the minuses the other way round, but I tend to agree with Jongy.

Rasputin was a famous russian monk who held great influence with Czar/Tsar Nicolas, I believe.
