Verify Alibi
smart skill 12 points

This skill allows the detective to go back and re-question a suspect who has previously lied about their alibi. If successful the suspect will reveal their own motive for the crime.

eg. 'Yes I did lie but I was scared, everyone knows how much I hated the victim'

Game Mechanics:

Used one per case
Success based on smart score

Possible outcomes include:
reveal motive
give a new real alibi
give a new false alibi
clam - no further questions answered

This could be a new skill to assign that a new faction could teach.

Who knows I am 2 days old but I already know I don't like these false alibis going unchecked! Its just a thought. What do you guys think?

lmao, BadAss, that's the best skill idea i've heard yet.

but also... there is already a smart skill that allows you to check false alibis, maybe not exactly in the way you mean, but if you get the research skill it will eliminate one suspect with a false alibi every time.

Chrysalis,

I really like the verify alibi skill idea, I'll play around with it and see if I can't make it work. It would have to be limited to one use per case, but I don't think it would be too overpowering. The cases where it would be useful would be somewhat limited.

I'm probably going to wait until I have three new skills to release at the same time: smarts, toughness and charming.

Could a moderator delete this last post, as it gives a hint into what the benefit is for being the head of a faction...a well kept secret.

Come on, do we really have to keep silly about this ridiculous secret...I can think of other mysteries that add up to the charm of this game

LilRach asks...LilRach gets. Are there more privileged players to this game?

It isnt a rediculous secret. If you want to know what it is, then work on getting to the top with a faction. That is the fun of it, finding out for yourself. ;)

This is not the first time the "secret" of being the head of faction has been brought up. Many players believe you should strive to become head of a faction to know the secret. However, some players are willing to tell you what it is if you haven't reached this position.

But please keep this in mind, some players do NOT want this spoiled, either for themself or others. When checking the boards they could come across this thread, not expecting to "find out the head of faction" reward. So for these people, it could ruin part of the mystery of the game.

As for being privileged, if you knew me, then you would know this is not true.
