Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.
Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

I think the room you leave without entering is the womb.

Now now girls, you BOTH have it right. :)
Here is another: (I thought this one was easy)
A man and his son were rock climbing on a particularly dangerous cliff when the slipped and fell. The man was killed, but the son lived and was rushed to the hospital. The old surgeon looked a the young man and declared, "I can't operate on this boy: he is my son." How could this be?

I have a REALLY tough one. Lets see if you can get this one John Hale!
You are trying to get to a town named Truth Town, in which everyone speaks the truth. You don't want to go to Lie Town, where everyone lies. You come to a fork in the road and there are no signs. A man stands in the middle of the fork and you decided to ask for directions. You, however, are in a rush, and only have time for 1 question. You don't know if the man is from Truth Town or Lie Town. What question can you ask the man to make sure that you get to Truth Town?

You ask him the way to Lie Town. If he's a lier he'll point the way to Truth Town and if he's truthful he'll point the same way.

ALthough there are no signs.
I would ask "That sign over there, that points to truth town, does it point in the correct direction?" The man from lie town say "Yes it is correct." I would go the other way.
The man from truth town would say "There is no sign, but it is the right way to truth town."
I am sure it is not the right answer, but at least it is creative. :)

Victoria, that does not work!
Truth: Points to Lie town
Lie: Points to truth town
So it doesn't work
And jstkdn, creative, but not right...
