So, as you may have noticed the "Beating a Dead Horse" discussion has been archived. (A post started by Roamie about the perceived steepness of Shady prices). Be assured that everyone's opinion was read and appreciated here in the Sleuth Admin household. We would like to put an offer on the table: cap at 1 mil.
Please let us know what you think and based on your posts, we'll make a decision by Christmas morning.*

Erm... not sure I follow the maths, it being very late here but it sounds like a good compromise given the number of no's, the number of different ideas and the guys begging for a yes.

I am in favour of a cap on Shady.
I don't think there is anyone here who has a BIG score who makes FAs anymore. Yes - when you first start you make a few mistakes; you're learning the formalae & the expensive consequences of making mistakes. So I don't suppose this affects anyone at the top end of the game.
As for the beginners - they don't have $1mill. So they go through the same learning sequence we did. Loosing one's contacts is the biggest punishment. Without them you cannot truly progress in the game. Hence if they're making FAs by the time they got $1mill to spare then they probably don't have $1mill to spare!
The biggest reason I have to support the cap is as follows: There is more to a good team member than just being a good detective (though it helps). I find enthusiasm, helpfulness to newcomers and communicativeness invaluable in an agency member and, once in a while you get someone you would hate to loose for those reasons, even though they have trouble with their concentration. Yet time and again, they pick themselves up and keep trying and it is for those the cap would be a boon.

Ok - I should have read the end of the thread before I posted my comments - but better late than never I guess.
I'm glad some amendment has been made.

Bumping :)
This discussion, though, didn't take into account that there might be game error involved in people getting FAs.
I seriously thought there were caps involved when I read the title; that's why I didn't actually read through it, and discover what kind of a cap it was till much later :)
