What does everyone do for Christmas? Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?

I go to my parents on Christmas Eve, and we have a traditional dinner that my Dad's mother started years and years ago when my Dad was growing up. My mom kept it going for him, and the original Christmas Eve dinner is Hamburger steak, french fries and I think my mom makes my dad clam chowder soup. (yuck but HE loves it lol)

This year some are having Steaks but I am sticking with the hamburger steak (over sized hamburger patty) and my mom is making hash brown casserole,in place of the french fries. We eat that by candle light and it is so nice!!

Then we open our gifts on Christmas Day and my mom makes a big Christmas dinner.

This is my favorite time of year and I absolutely LOVE having my family around me...there isnt a feeling like it :) Then the Friday b4 New years Eve (atleast thats when it is this year)we're having our annual family Christmas party for all the aunts, uncles, cousins, etc (on my mom side). That is always nice too!

So tell what you do for Christmas! :o)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!!

Bad Ass, considering it's the middle of Ausgust, I am sure there are many more posts you could bump up for "oh, nostalgia!"
This one might have been more appropriate in December :D

Bah! I come from a Jewish family. We don't have Santa Claus, see? We have a guy comes round once a year, his name is Elijah. And we have to put out a big ol' goblet of wine, for good Ol' Elijah.

So basically he goes from house to house, drinking a cup of wine, in every single one.

And he leaves US nothing. Nada. El Zippo.

Elijah

Drunkest. Religious Icon. Ever.

Mmm, I don't know if Santa could cope with that Al. Though he does have a helluva beer gut and the red face is a sure sign of capiliary damage, so you never know...

Large dishevelled looking man in a mis-buttoned red coat leaning heavily on a disgruntled reindeer, singing at the top of his lungs, "Here comes Shanta Claush, here comes Shanta, Claush..." *stagger stumble, crashes heavily into garbage bins* "Don't just schtand their blinking, help Shcanta up... whish one are you again, Dashcer or Danscher or Schtupid, no.. no... Vomet... ergh Santa shouldnt'a said that...."

(Christmas Morning)... "Mommy why do my toys smell funny... "

(It's ok folks you have three and bit months to get over the mental imagery :) )
