I enjoy country, rap/hip hop, and rock. I love classical while I am reading or just relaxing.

I enjoy classical music like Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin. I also like rock music (don't ask me why), and some soft rap (don't get started with all that bad-mouthed swearing). If I'm in the mood, a bit of pop idols do me a stiffer, but, classical music just stands out from all the rest.

Here's the types of music I like, as follows:

1) Easy listening(Zamfir,etc.)
2) Light Contemporary
3) Blues
4. Soul
5. Rock-n-Roll
6. Gospel (Southern & Contemporary)
7. Folk
8. Classical
9) Jazz
10) Country & Western
11) Pop
12) Nature Sounds
13) Golden oldies type music

In general I love all types of music, except heavy metal, & hard rock, but even then it would depend on the band, tune & lyrics.

I love to listen to romantic music, and music played by various solo instruments, such as piano, acoustic guitar, violins, etc.

Nick Hornby wrote that he doesn't like bands - he likes songs. I think it's the right view, and it works for types of music as well. Although I have preferences in types, it doesn't discount me from liking particular songs from that type. For example, I'm not especially keen on heavy metal - but my nephews have introduced me to one or two tracks that I can't help but bang my head to : o )

Blues, Blues, Blues, and ... more Blues

SRV (Stevie Ray Vaughan) is my all out favorite, but I will listen to any blues. Got to see BB King in concert a few months ago and that was *amazing*. Not only are his guitar licks emotional, but so is his speaking.

And I have to second Under The Bridge by RHCP. That's definitely one of the best songs ever. Good combination of lyrics, musicality, and talent.

I'm all over the map, musically, but lately I have been listening to "Down from the Mountain," music from the concert of musicians from the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou." (Could be something to do with hubby leaving it in the cd player in the Jeep?)
