Just curious - I've tried paying the Fortune Teller for his advice a few times, and never had anything worthwhile result, so I gave up after a few goes.

Does he ever reveal anything useful if you pay the $20?

if you pay him the 20 dollars he lets you know if you have found all of your suspects yet. If he says there are others you need to speak to, it means that you haven't found them all yet

If he says the actors are speaking their final lines, it means that you have found them all and can move on

The numbers of suspects per level are constant and always are X and X+1. If you check with the FT when you have X suspects, you know if you miss the 1 or not.
In order to know what X is for each level, pay good attention to your cases. I made a list of that per level and of how many fake alibis are (also constant number). However Im not going to tell it here cause I dont want to spoil the fun. ;)
