Would love the sidebar option one vote here.
Agency Directors should have the ability to view all agents stats. and skills EX.-Cases Quit, Cases Solved, False Accusations and Det. skills this would help with agency goals and directing the group as a whole in common direction. Only for their own agents , once agent leaves so goes the accessability. Any takers???

Like I said there are more ways then IP address. After all is able to say if people are playing with 3 characters in one agency. Via that, and paypal etc etc etc. There are people that pay other peoples subscriptions, but also Ben knows who they are.

Trouble makes can't find a way if they are identified as such.

The reason why I am readily giving up my privacy. Is because so much shit has happened in some agencies. I personally don't get the privacy issue....I mean, it is not like I have my bank account details or my journal on my detective page. Privacy over a detective page would only be required for people that have a purpose to hide it. Like, they love chatting to people, pretending to be someone else. Or they love responding to themselves on the message board. Personally, the few times I found out that people did this over PM to me, I felt lied to. The few times that I saw this on the message board, I wondered if they were already in therapy...which is clearly where they need to be. Above all....definitely not in my agency.

Peter Gunn....you are not even subscribed? For a unsubbed person all these things don't even matter, as they can not be in an agency.

Privacy or not, my business or not. When someone wants to join an agency, it does become the business of the director to know.

In that light, perhaps this should only for agency joiners. A tun of us have unsubbed characters from the very distant past. It would clutter a detective page. I played with 3 detectives, before I subbed a 4th. I don't even know their names anymore, let alone password.

The time that I care to know, is when I hire someone. Like a resume, government check for criminal record, or checking a reference.

You also have to take into account that people can pay for each other through paypal. My sister and I both play on the same computer, but she doesn't have a credit card. Therefore, I allow her to give me cash and then use my credit card(paypal) to pay for her detective. Some people would mistake this as having more than one character, rather than two different people sharing a computer.
I think privacy is a big issue, and people should just ask if they want to know, rather than try to force information, and make assumptions.

Also, I do like my privacy. I am in a small agency, and I am not a "troublemaker." I don't send random messages to people, or even put people down. My biggest problem with this is trust. I guess I am old fashioned because I believe that if an agency discloses their policies before allowing others in, then they wouldn't need this feature. And even with the feature, there would be a lot of ways around it. It just seems like a lot of work for Ben, that may not be needed.

Hmmm but what about, a history showing up in what agencies a detective has been in?
I often get questions, "Do you know person X, she has been in a agency but refuses to say which one, and her PM asking me to join just weirded me out." Up on investigation, every person that I know that refused or claimed to not remember which agency they'd been in...most of the time it turns out they have been up to no good.

That sounds like a much better idea to me. That way it would show what agencies people have been in, and whether or not they are changing a lot.

Or...if they won't tell you...just don't hire them...

Exactly sweets. Not only changing a lot. But some agencies are less active or more active then others. And if someone leaves an agency, or gets kicked, it can be related to that. Or other reasons. The thing is cfm I can not even ask the question, if I can not even see if they have been in another agency. They can simply say "no I have not been in another agency." Or say they have been in 1 agency, instead of 10.
I get a lot of reference type questions from many directors "Do you know so and so?" Sometimes I know which agency they have been in and refer the question to someone else. Most of the time I really don't know.

I really don't understand the opposition here. It surprises me. People have more to hide then I thought. I know I have nothing to hide, and therefore couldn't care less what shows up on my detective page.

Well, I see this as someone going behind my back to find out something that (in most cases) I'd be happy to tell if asked.

If there was actual, real spendable cash on the line I could understand all the fuss. If an agency recieved real money that was divided between each member then of course you'd want to know something about who you hired on and I'd be the first one calling for a way to find out.

But since we don't play for real cash I guess I just don't see what all the fuss is about. If someone seems ok when you hire them then turns out to be a jerk...kick um out. If you check on a person who was kicked out of your agency, and you see on their detecive page that they've joined another agency...message the director of the agency with a friendly warning "hey, just thought you should know so-n-so was kicked out of my agency for being a jerk-off so you might want to keep an eye on him/her".

If you're really worried about taking in a new agent, then don't toss out invitations like party favors. If someone want's to join your agency...take a week and message people at other agencies, ask them if they know the person, ask if they know anything about the person. Then hire at your own risk based on what you've found out.
