I have footprint analysis and it told me that it was by a heavy person, but in the end the suspect was a slim person. Can you fully depend on my skill or can they be wrong sometime??? Also, I am working on a case right now where an eyewitness said they saw and suspected someone, but that person has an alibi. Do I trust the eyewitness or the alibi??? Are there somethings you can trust more than others???

Only if they were still willing to talk. If they clammed up they deserve it. After all, tight lips sink ships too, you know.

If you think hard enough the hair or thread could be from the victum and on some cases the person isn't even dead so even the footprint could be from the victum. Confusing.

The PE will ALWAYS belong to a supect. You may not be able to ID it if people clam, but that doesnt mean its not one of the suspects'. HTH

and just to clarify, only one piece of PE will belong to the guilty person. the other is just a red herring. it would have to match to someone without and alibi, or with a fake alibi in order to be enough to accuse. there are formulas scattered throughout the boards that tell when you definately have enough to accuse. :D
