I have collected a bit of money and I am wondering what to buy from the detective store. Which item did you find very useful? What should I get?

I didn't buy anything. I joined an agency and used their gear, plus things I won from favors. But as you are smart and charming, in general you want gear that enhances your charming skills for most of the time when you are solving cases and smarts gear for searching crime scenes.
