The Resistance: Battery Boardwalk's Opening Day

After years of anticipation, the Battery Boardwalk has finally opened its doors to the general public. The residents of Sleuthville come streaming in through the ticket booth--a line stretching as far as the eye can see. Among those gaining entry is a group of elite detectives with complimentary day passes to the attractions, invited specifically to keep an eye on things. A week prior to opening, the higher-ups at the Boardwalk had received anonymous threats of sabotage and murder if the Boardwalk was not torn down immediately. However, the proprietor was not one to submit to intimidation. Thus, on opening day, a group of highly-ranked detectives were tasked with keeping the park safe.
Unfortunately, there have been rumors floating around that some in the ranks of the elite had been approached by the mysterious threat-maker, and were now working for him to guarantee the day would end in disaster. It is said only those who turned to the dark side knew who the others were; everyone else had to eye each other with suspicion and make their own judgements. Although the team has been compromised, there is no time to vet and assemble another one on such short notice. Yet the day is young and there are plenty of opportunities to ensure opening day is a success.
The detectives’ job this fine day is to make the rounds of the park and keep an eye out for any suspicious or potentially dangerous activities. If opening day goes off without a hitch, the Boardwalk is sure to bring in millions, and the detectives would stand to receive a substantial cut for their services. But if it were to fail, then Sleuthville would be plunged into financial ruin and return to the days of never-ending guilty clients and exorbitant Shady fees. Oh no.
Will the Battery Boardwalk’s grand opening be an unparalleled success, or will it go down in flames accompanied by nothing but the screams of disappointed visitors? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

Interesting thoughts, Sal. But the data can be interpreted quite differently.
The vote to approve the last team was this:
Zara Bande YES
Sal Iva YES
Bela Talbot III YES
AspenK YES
miss snopes NO
What allegiances can explain this vote?
Zara - (resistance) - votes a 'coin toss' YES as explained in post of 9 June @ 11:28
Sal - (possible spy) - still keeping cover as 'Resistance' and hoping to make it to Mission 5.
Bela - (possible spy) - same reason as Sal
AspenK - (resistance) - due to a) voting behaviour so far and b) verification of miss snopes as a spy
miss snopes - (spy) - she votes NO in order to hide her allegiance and to 'cover' for her fellow spy on the team.
I feel pretty sure that this team will go ahead. All three people on it will vote YES, which is all that's required. I'm having to accept that the Resistance has lost - and I still haven't worked out with 100% certainty who my fellow Resistance members are. One has to be Aspen K - but another must be Sal or Bela. I can't work it out.
But I agree with you Sal (albeit for very different reasons) - it's game over.

At the start of Mission 4 the spies trailed 2/1
Assuming you were correct about AspenK (resistance) that would mean that Bela or Sal is a spy. If that were the case, then snopes (again assuming you are right - spy) knows there's another spy on the team and should be voting YES since Sal or Bela voting NO is still going to be inconclusive as to which one is which. It doesn't indict her to do so and there's no need to cover anything because of the situation with Sal and Bela, you still won't know which of us is a spy even once the mission is sabotaged.
I don't see it.

Not seeing it, Sal?
miss snopes knows that the Mission 4 team will go ahead. She doesn't have to vote YES.
The 3 proposed team members will vote YES : Sal and Bela because they seem willing to take a risk on each other. Aspen K (see reasons given in previous post). That makes it, at the very least, a 3-2 YES vote.
Also, I’m not on team and she knows I'm Resistance. She's not on the team therefore the second spy must be.
miss snopes knows that Mission 4 will fail, as spy no.2 will use SABOTAGE. But that's still makes a 2-2 overall scoreline. By voting NO to the Mission 4 line-up, however, she keeps alive any doubts regarding her allegiance and therefore raises her chances of possibly being selected for Mission 5 - and thus being in place to win that final mission for the spies.
Clear as mud? I hope not. But anyway it's all academic now.

Mission 5 Result:
Bela spotted Sal and miss snopes running towards her, and they exchanged a glance. Sal reached out and grabbed one of the horse poles on the carousel, and with a mighty pull, managed to slow the ride down greatly. However, he was still being pulled along by the soles of his feet. miss snopes was catching terrified children who were jumping off the momentarily-slowed ride. Meanwhile, Bela was fiddling with the controls to no avail.
Bela kicked the control panel in frustration and a small hatch opened up on the bottom, exposing some wires. Of course! With reckless abandon, she grabbed them and yanked with all her might. Sparks flew out, and then a second later, the carousel went dark and began to wind down. The detectives heaved a sigh of relief.
Although there had been a couple of mishaps, overall the Boardwalk's opening day had been a huge success, all thanks to the work of the detectives. With such popularity, the Boardwalk would be ensured a place in Sleuthville for years to come. Zara and Aspen were identified as potential saboteurs, and were sentenced to 500 hours of community service each, picking out thousands of paper-filled canisters from the fountain. Bela, Sal, and miss snopes all received week-long passes to enjoy the Boardwalk's attractions.
Mission 5 consisting of Bela, Sal, and miss snopes was a SUCCESS.
The team members voted as follows:
???? SUCCEED
???? SUCCEED
???? SUCCEED
Resistance wins 3-2! Great job Resistance, and a valiant effort Spies!
Bela, Sal, and miss snopes will each receive [10] General Prize Points. Zara and Aspen will each receive [5] General Prize Points. (Prize points are non-transferable. They are attached to the detective to which they were awarded.)
Thank you for playing! I hope you had a good time. :)

Whoa, we actually won?! Woohoo Resistance! :D
*cough* I mean: yeah, I knew we had the right team all along, like duh. Nice one, Resistance! :D I'd like to apologise to miss snopes for not believing in your Resistance-ness the first few missions - you were just a little hammy. :P
Congrats to Zara and Aspen for making me feel queasy about every single team; Zara, I should have realised that you were 'quelle'ing one too many times! :P
We should definitely play a bigger game sometime. But for now; party at the Boardwalk - Jonny's paying (with all the cotton candy money! If we're lucky we might even get some free cotton candy! Don't count on it though). :D

Congratulations to the Resistance : )
You worked everything out beautifully and thoroughly deserved to win the game.
I tried my best to put a spanner-in-the-works right up to the end, but I don’t think I make a very good spy.
Sal spelt out everything quite faultlessly the other day. But then maybe it was all just too easy to work out …?
It’s strange but even though its just a ‘game’, I still feel bad about accusing miss snopes and I’m truly glad that noses don’t grow each time we lie. Apologies to miss snopes - you played it wonderfully cool throughout : )
And many thanks to The Announcer for organising all of this and keeping everything on track. I really needed your reminders about voting, deadlines, etc.
Thank you Sal, miss snopes, Bela, and Aspen - it was fun playing this game of intrigue and suspicion with you all. Till next time : )

Zara, you and Aspen played as well as spies can play. You should feel good about the way you played. When you are a spy, it's necessary to lie. No one took anything personally, you had to say what you thought would result in your team winning. In short, the spies played like veterans. My hat is off to you.
As for the Resistance, I will say I think we hall had our doubts about each other, especially miss snopes. Thank goodness we all came around to the right decision in time. An excellent effort by the resistance too. My hat is STILL off, not for the members of my team.
I want you all to know the I would be happy to play with and against ANY of you again. I hope it can happen fairly soon. Good luck to everyone and thanks for the wonderful time.
