After years of anticipation, the Battery Boardwalk has finally opened its doors to the general public. The residents of Sleuthville come streaming in through the ticket booth--a line stretching as far as the eye can see. Among those gaining entry is a group of elite detectives with complimentary day passes to the attractions, invited specifically to keep an eye on things. A week prior to opening, the higher-ups at the Boardwalk had received anonymous threats of sabotage and murder if the Boardwalk was not torn down immediately. However, the proprietor was not one to submit to intimidation. Thus, on opening day, a group of highly-ranked detectives were tasked with keeping the park safe.

Unfortunately, there have been rumors floating around that some in the ranks of the elite had been approached by the mysterious threat-maker, and were now working for him to guarantee the day would end in disaster. It is said only those who turned to the dark side knew who the others were; everyone else had to eye each other with suspicion and make their own judgements. Although the team has been compromised, there is no time to vet and assemble another one on such short notice. Yet the day is young and there are plenty of opportunities to ensure opening day is a success.

The detectives’ job this fine day is to make the rounds of the park and keep an eye out for any suspicious or potentially dangerous activities. If opening day goes off without a hitch, the Boardwalk is sure to bring in millions, and the detectives would stand to receive a substantial cut for their services. But if it were to fail, then Sleuthville would be plunged into financial ruin and return to the days of never-ending guilty clients and exorbitant Shady fees. Oh no.

Will the Battery Boardwalk’s grand opening be an unparalleled success, or will it go down in flames accompanied by nothing but the screams of disappointed visitors? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

I am not using the strong leader right now. That would just be a waste for another 4-1 vote.

Leadership will now move on to Zara.

Zara, please propose a team of three people.

Sal, please feel free to rewrite the ability in a satisfactory manner. I will use it in future games.

I'm finding it difficult to select a team. I can exclude one person I know is a spy but I have varying degree of suspicion about the other three.

I took part in Mission 2 along with Sal and Bela. That was sabotaged and I have no way of knowing who was responsible. Of course, the other M2 team members involved (Sal and Bela) will likewise view me with suspicion. I can choose Aspen K (albeit she made an ambiguous vote at one point) but I still have to select either Sal or Bela. I guess I will choose Bela as I've always had a strong sense that she is definitely Resistance - don't ask me why.

So I propose -

Mission 4, Team 2: Zara, Aspen K and Bela

Mission 4, Team 2

Team Leader: Zara
Team Proposal: Zara, Aspen, Bela

It is now time for the players to vote to either approve or reject this mission proposal. When you do vote, please send me a PM stating "Mission 4, Team 2: YES/NO." 24 hours.

Please feel free to discuss.

I had thought that this was now crystal clear, but I guess not. Having been on a team with Bela and Zara I was suspicious of both. Since I feel certain that Aspen and Zara are the same, whatever they are, I would have to look at the two of them first. I have been on three teams now and two were successes. If I were a spy, this game would be over. The only fail was with Zara and Bela. The success with Aspen makes me feel like she is Resistance and therefore so is Zara.

Walks off scratching his head.

I can't fathom it, but I can see this team getting off the ground, by as much as a 4 to 1 vote, but I think more likely is 3 to 2 in favor. The first case would be my NO vote, but the second and I feel more likely will be the case and Aspen and I will be the NO votes.

There is not any way that Aspen will vote NO for this as she is a spy. Sal, you are on a mission with two spies. If either or both of them were Resistance, you or Bela would know they had lied about me because that would make one or both of you the spies.

The bottom line is this: If you are Resistance and you are NOT on this mission, you have to vote NO. It doesn't matter who you believe, at least one of the three is a spy.

I agree with your logic as you have stated things. How nice. :)

I'm just not sure I agree with all of the premises.

This has been enjoyable so far.
