After years of anticipation, the Battery Boardwalk has finally opened its doors to the general public. The residents of Sleuthville come streaming in through the ticket booth--a line stretching as far as the eye can see. Among those gaining entry is a group of elite detectives with complimentary day passes to the attractions, invited specifically to keep an eye on things. A week prior to opening, the higher-ups at the Boardwalk had received anonymous threats of sabotage and murder if the Boardwalk was not torn down immediately. However, the proprietor was not one to submit to intimidation. Thus, on opening day, a group of highly-ranked detectives were tasked with keeping the park safe.

Unfortunately, there have been rumors floating around that some in the ranks of the elite had been approached by the mysterious threat-maker, and were now working for him to guarantee the day would end in disaster. It is said only those who turned to the dark side knew who the others were; everyone else had to eye each other with suspicion and make their own judgements. Although the team has been compromised, there is no time to vet and assemble another one on such short notice. Yet the day is young and there are plenty of opportunities to ensure opening day is a success.

The detectives’ job this fine day is to make the rounds of the park and keep an eye out for any suspicious or potentially dangerous activities. If opening day goes off without a hitch, the Boardwalk is sure to bring in millions, and the detectives would stand to receive a substantial cut for their services. But if it were to fail, then Sleuthville would be plunged into financial ruin and return to the days of never-ending guilty clients and exorbitant Shady fees. Oh no.

Will the Battery Boardwalk’s grand opening be an unparalleled success, or will it go down in flames accompanied by nothing but the screams of disappointed visitors? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

Ignore BKP. I had to send this post by letter carrier as I am out of town right now and I mistakenly used BKP's letterhead instead of my own. Here is the same message on my own letterhead.

You are right Bela, Zara and I are not both spies because I am Resistance. Now if you are the other spy, you already know this and picking Zara for the mission would be a good move as we all might assume Zara was the saboteur.

The longer AspenK stays quiet though, the more my curiosity grows. Is she being quiet because she has the clear conscience of the Resistance or is it because she's hiding out after loosening the screws on the Big Wheel mechanism?

I've heard whispers that Sal is hiding out on the USS Sleuthetania which is, ironically, a part of the Underground Spy Railroad. I'm putting out feelers now for any information as to why he might be onboard.

Ah, that makes it much clearer, miss snopes. :P

I agree with you on Aspen; her silence has left me with nothing to go on. If you are Resistance, Aspen, please tell us we should have you on the team, or *something*. Call somebody a spy, it's fun!

What team do you think would be a good one to go with? Anybody, everybody can answer this one, you probably have a different point of view on the whole thing.

Don't worry about the canister, Bela. I've dropped enough of them in my time : ) My back does hurt a little though.

My thoughts so far. I know the identity of one spy. I have varying degrees of doubt about another two people. For some reason I haven't had any deep suspicions about Bela. Why, I ask myself?

I agree that it is a difficult game to play when there are only 5 people in total. I hope that next time around (if there is a next time) there will be at least 7 or 8 involved.

And yes miss snopes - I'm also wondering about Sal's absence from this thread. To go off on a cruise at a time like this ...

Bela will be keeping TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for herself.

The first round only gives a glimmer of insight. I AM Resistance. I think Bela is probably Resistance. But, if she is a spy, then she would know that I was Resistance and that she would reveal her allegiance by voting "Sabotage". This keeps us guessing for at least one more round. I feel very sure that Zara or miss snopes is a spy. I'm sorry ladies I"m only trying to use some logic here. Aspen has been very quiet and that raises my suspicion, but I have nothing on which to base that right now. I am going to yield to Bela's thinking here on the make up of this team. I am not convinced that this will fly, but here's another possibility. Sal is resistance, Bela is a spy and Zara is a spy. Now if this team goes, either of them can vote to sabotage the mission after the team is approved. There will be no way to tell which one sabotaged the mission. Well, we have to find out something, I hope.

I've been playing different scenarios over in my mind based on the limited information I know and think I know. Being Resistance, I obviously want all 3 Resistance members on the team for this mission because this will be the easiest for a spy to hide his/her sabotage vote. Since I am NOT on the team, that means there is at least 1 spy on it.

Okay, I've made my decision. Vote sent.

Okay, I've changed my mind a few times about this, and I'm still waiting to see what Aspen thinks, but I think I'll send my vote now.

The mission is now ready to proceed. Bela, Sal, and Zara must PM me whether they vote to SUCCEED or whether they vote to SABOTAGE the mission.

**Resistance members must vote SUCCEED, while Spies may choose to vote either SUCCEED or SABOTAGE.**

You have 24 hours to get your votes in, or they will be randomized (SUCCEED/SABOTAGE) as applicable to your affiliation.

I thought I posted before I voted. Oh well, I stated that there is bound to be a spy on the team seeing as how there are only 5 people playing and 2 are spies. There is no avoiding it.

Even before the second Mission succeeds or fails, I am interested in miss snopes vote on the proposed team. As the only NO vote, I am thinking that perhaps she knows from her allegiance being divulged to Zara and Zara's subsequent declaration that miss snopes is a spy, that Zara was not being truthful with us and has done all she can to warn us about it. But then again, maybe I'm wrong and Zara has told the truth. We should find out soon.
