After years of anticipation, the Battery Boardwalk has finally opened its doors to the general public. The residents of Sleuthville come streaming in through the ticket booth--a line stretching as far as the eye can see. Among those gaining entry is a group of elite detectives with complimentary day passes to the attractions, invited specifically to keep an eye on things. A week prior to opening, the higher-ups at the Boardwalk had received anonymous threats of sabotage and murder if the Boardwalk was not torn down immediately. However, the proprietor was not one to submit to intimidation. Thus, on opening day, a group of highly-ranked detectives were tasked with keeping the park safe.

Unfortunately, there have been rumors floating around that some in the ranks of the elite had been approached by the mysterious threat-maker, and were now working for him to guarantee the day would end in disaster. It is said only those who turned to the dark side knew who the others were; everyone else had to eye each other with suspicion and make their own judgements. Although the team has been compromised, there is no time to vet and assemble another one on such short notice. Yet the day is young and there are plenty of opportunities to ensure opening day is a success.

The detectives’ job this fine day is to make the rounds of the park and keep an eye out for any suspicious or potentially dangerous activities. If opening day goes off without a hitch, the Boardwalk is sure to bring in millions, and the detectives would stand to receive a substantial cut for their services. But if it were to fail, then Sleuthville would be plunged into financial ruin and return to the days of never-ending guilty clients and exorbitant Shady fees. Oh no.

Will the Battery Boardwalk’s grand opening be an unparalleled success, or will it go down in flames accompanied by nothing but the screams of disappointed visitors? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

This is often a game of saying and/or not saying that which boosts the idea that anyone wants to express to the rest of the group. I see SOME logic to what you say Zara, but it occurs to me that those snippets of logic comes most easily from someone trying to explain away that which looks quite suspicious. How do you account for the fact that you and miss snopes have made contradictory statements? She's a spy/I'm not a spy. It's not very often that a member of the Resistance lies.So it would appear that one, if not both of you are spies. What better cover than to accuse each other? But contradictory statements bring a natural suspicion. Since there is little else to go on so far, I can only guess that at least on of you is being less than square with us. That's all.

Maybe I should add that it is absolutely possible for one of you to be telling the truth, I accuse no one at this point. But it is pretty clear that at least one of you is not. So if I have cast my net over an innocent, accept my apologies. I am merely trying to see the situation as it stands, so far.

Although you all have raised several good points, it's not enough to convince me to change my vote so I'm sending it now.

I find it interesting that Sal is a self-proclaimed Con Artist. I'm going back to the Boardwalk to see what new information I might gather through the telescope. If only it had x-ray vision.

First know that I think you are ALL wonderful ladies and I am very lucky to be in your company, spies or not. It is my duty to pick a team and I will. I'm trying to pick someone who I think is also Resistance so I will chose as a team member: Bela

I am curious about AspenK's vote of yes for a team that looks like it has a spy on it. Perhaps she's the other. I still don't know, but we have to start somewhere. I am taking a guess here but you have all had a chance to follow my thinking and so Resistance members, let's see your yes votes, unless of course you think Bela's a spy.

I propose for Mission 1 Team 2

Sal Iva
Bela Talbot III

Well, that was an interesting vote. I'm not sure that it leaves me any the wiser.

Looking at Sal's comments and choice of team I can see it two ways. On the one hand, me and miss snopes have contradicted each other so he might want to avoid a potential spy by eliminating both of us. Aspen K's 'yes' vote might seem to be a declaration of 'spy' - so again, a reason to avoid. That leaves Bela to select as team-mate.

However, if Sal is a spy - and I have to say I'm reasonably suspicious - and if the other is ms snopes (they were very matey during the last team proposal) then choosing Bela may be a way to avert suspicion.

As for Aspen K - hmm. It does seem odd that a spy would expose themselves so early on. Did she confuse the mission vote with the team vote? Or can we say, cut-and-dried, 'spy'?

I don't like being suspicious of so many people ...

Anyhow my vote is in.

I have to wonder about the radio silence of Bela and AspenK. What does this mean? Is one of them the other spy and the other running surveillance? If one of those two IS the other spy, the silence is a pretty good tactic....especially if Bela is the one who is the spy.

Well, we have to out the spies somehow so I'm flipping a coin and sending my vote now.
