err Secret Squirrel... Atom Ant... Wacky Races... Here Comes the Grump... HR Puff'n'Stuff... Jan and Jana from Superfriends... a weird series inside a UK show called Oliver in the Overworld (mainly coz it gave me nightmares) ... Magic Roundabout.... Jamie and the Magic Torch... Scooby Doo... and the animated Beatles series. And this with only two tv stations as a kid. :)

Sindy why did you have to ask this question? At first I couldn't think of one, now I can't stop thinking of the old shows and characters I loved to watch.
Bewitched, Mod Squad, Perry Mason, Chico and the Man, Good Times, Partridge Family Archie Bunker and the list goes on and on.

For me, I think these characters are unmissable:
Columbo (Peter Falk - great actor!)
Mrs. Fletcher (Murder she Wrote - Angela Lansbury)
Red Forman (That 70's show - Kurtwood Smith, also played the villain in Robocop)
Professor Snape (technically not a tv character, but an honorable mention, for Alan Rickman)
Most of the Hannah Barbara characters (Fred Flintstone, Scooby Doo and such)
Tom and Jerry (always loved to watch those as a kid)
Top Cat
Michael C Hall (for his portrayal as Dexter, the crime series - not the cartoon series, which is also good)
I'll think of some others in the meantime, but I think I listed most of my favorites :)

Cfm, you and I have always had similar tastes... Patrick Jane... Yes please! ;)
To Angel, I would add Spike. I always loved that the "good" character was the darker one while the "bad" one was the blond.
